About this property

Earthsong Lodge - FAMLY

EarthSong Lodge provides an opportunity for Denali Park visitors to have a unique, authentic place to stay overnight while visiting the National Park. Located four miles out Stampede Road (from "Into The Wild" fame), EarthSong is above treeline on open tundra, with unobstructed views of the Alaska Range. It's the perfect spot for guests who wish for a quiet, spectacular place to sleep, and have accommodations that are more than just a bed and bathroom. Log cabins are well-apportioned and have modern conveniences, spaced for privacy. On-site guests can enjoy some extra amenities, such as our coffeehouse, evening slide presentations, and our very popular daily sled dog kennel tours where you can see some of the dogs that we use to guide guests deep into the park in the winter months. EarthSong is for the visitor that wants just a bit more from their visit.
Family cabins have one double bed, one queen bed, and one twin trundle bed with bathroom. These cabins are perfect for the small families and people that need more than one bed. The cabin is a one-room cabin with separate bathroom, and beds are off-set from each other so you do not feel like you are sleeping on top of each other. Each cabin has bathroom with modern facilities, individual hot water heater, nice towels, extra pillows, and more to make your stay comfortable. Cabins are also insulated and heated for the cooler nights. All cabins have either private or shared porches. While there are no cooking facilities in the cabins, there is a shared kiosk where guests have access to fridge and microwave. Cabins are log, all hand-built and unique, and have nice mix of authentic and comfort, with a high level of cleanliness. Daily housekeeping service available.

Our Alaskan Excursion
The cabin was quaint and quiet. And the view was awesome. Open the door, look to the left and enjoy the mountains. We enjoyed our time away from the TV. Ran into Jon multiple times and enjoyed our conversations.

About the host

Hosted by Jon Nierenberg

Host profile image
Jon and Karin Nierenberg own EarthSong Lodge, and built everything on the property. Ex-park ranger and dog sled guide and expedition leader, Jon has been in this area since 1982, homesteading just a few miles north of the lodge. Karin moved to Alaska in 1990, and together they built the lodge in 1996. Both have a love of the area and Alaska, and the lodge is a way to share that love of the park with guests from all over the world.

Why they chose this property

We built the lodge because we love the area and Alaska, and enjoy sharing our love of the park with people from across the globe.

What makes this property unique

Staying at EarthSong allows a visitor to get the best from their short visit to Denali, and have accommodations that are more than just a bed to sleep in. Rather, EarthSong has been an important part of our past guests stay. Our staff is well-versed on the park, and are happy to help guests plan activities from hiking to rafting to flightseeing. Our sled dog kennels have been a consistent favorite and are the best sled dogs in the state. We are more than just a few cabins, but rather an experience, and one that is uniquely Alaskan.
