About Nicoletta Riccardi
Wandering soul for years, after my studies in International and Diplomatic Sciences , I followed my passion for Africa , where I lived and worked for five years (in Tanzania , Uganda and Egypt ). I then spent almost three years in the UK where I got a Master degree in Community and Youth Work and worked in community centers. I came back to Italy to be an active citizen and be part of the change. I love cooking (especially sweets) for my loved ones, drawing with soft pastels and practicing yoga .
Nicoletta Riccardi purchased this Villa in 1992
Why Nicoletta Riccardi chose Ostuni
One day three people, like the three trulli that you’ll find at our Holiday Home, found their corner of paradise and chose it as the place to seed passion and dedication. In 1992 my brother, my sister and her husband bought a compound of seven trulli at the hearth of the Itria Valley, between Cisternino, Martina Franca and Ostuni. Here the family lived its best moments of sharing and harmony, restoring four of the seven typical Apulian cone shaped dwellings and living in them. The other three, the Tre Casiedde, were abandoned for over 18 years until, in June 2010, my family donated them to me. For years, or rather decades, we met in this place sharing summers, walks, hugs, dinners. And just like this land, my soul was nourished by this experience, welcoming a new self that has grown and blossomed over time. That’s what Tre Casiedde is about: comfort, solace, tradition and tranquility. And I would like it to be the same for each of my guests.

Our group of four people was entirely satisfied and pleased by the fabulous Trulli of Nicoletta (who by the way, had great advice and have been helpful the entire time we had to deal with her).
The house was charming, comfortable and all the accessories were working well. We could have spent an entire month visiting all the lovely cities of the Itria valley of Puglia, but unfortunately, we only had a week. Grazie Nicoletta, we hope to return one day.
Dear Aline and friends, it was a great pleasure to meet you all and be useful for the time you enjoyed in the valley. See you soon!
The property was clean, well cared for and beautiful.
Nicoletta's trullo was everything we were looking for in our trip to Italy. We were looking for peace and quiet in the beautiful Italian countryside. That is exactly what we received. The trullo is in a beautiful, treed area. The house is immaculate and well appointed. Nicoletta's gardens are beautiful and well taken care of. The patios were wonderful for morning coffee and afternoon wine. Nicoletta was so helpful. She met us in Cisternino and drove us to the property. She spent time with us explaining the house. She called us the next day to make sure we were doing well. We had her phone number and called with questions about the area and restaurants. Nicoletta could not have been a better host. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
Thanks a lot, dear Ginger! It was lovely to meet you all! And I could really feel how much you enjoyed your stay at Trulli Tre Casiedde was. Take care!
Tranquil and stylish, Nicoletta’s renovated trulli is in a perfect location for exploring Puglia - beautiful towns, beaches and restaurants are all easy to get to. But it s a fantastic place in which to be lazy too! We loved the three terraces - these work brilliantly as outside rooms, joining the well designed interior to a very pretty garden full of olive and fruit trees and shrubs. And it hits holiday needs on the nail as well: good showers, an efficient kitchen and the right amount of storage. Thankyou Nicoletta for your warm welcome, your spot-on advice and all your care - we hope we will return soon x
Dear Catrina, you and your family have been spreading your joy of being together and being in my Trulli! I am happy you lived the available spaces and “used” the possibility to relax and let go. Grazie for your warm smiles!
sweet little place
The property is tastefully decorated and well equipped. It is located a long way down a very bumpy rough track. You are in the middle of an olive grove, very much away from it all, but you have neighbours right next door (the host's family). There is a washing machine, but no dish-washer. No aircon but the house kept quite cool anyway. The rooms are small, as you would expect in a Trulli. For a family of 5, the living area feels very small when you are all there. The tv just has the local Italian channels. Luckily there are lots of things to do in the area, and we had great weather. The outside shower was a great place to cool off as the patio gets very hot. The host is lovely and friendly with lots of recommendations and advice about the area.
Thank you Emma! It was a pleasure to host you and your lovely family in my Trulli! I imagine it must have been so different from the US, in terms of spaces, roads and comforts. I am glad you enjoyed it! See you!
An incredible experience!
From the lovely owner Nicoletta to the area and the home what a phenomenal experience. Pugilia is definitely a favorite and the lovely Trulli was incredible. My family can't stop talking about it. Thanks for sharing your home and we can't say enough good things about our stay! We will be back as soon as we can.
Such a lovely family, perfect guests to live the trulli house as their own, with love! Thank you again, and see you soon!
Fabulous, both luxury and a personal feel to the home !
This "Trulli" residence tops the list. This unique style of living is set amongst a beautiful orchard of olive trees along with other fruit trees ! The owner " Nicoltta" could not be any more pleasant and accommodating. She provided us such a personal and fun welcoming. This home is top notch in every way. Molte Gratzie for all !
It was great to have you all here: your enthusiasm was contagious! Thank you for sharing with me, in Tre Casiedde, part of your journey. See you soon!
Renting a room in a trullo and staying at Tre Casiedde is only a part of the experience that this Holiday Home can offer. My deepest desire is that each of my guests can enjoy Tre Casiedde in all its glory. How? Tasting breakfast based on the typical products of the Apulian tradition. Using the two roomy verandas to relax, meditate or celebrate with friends and family. Enjoying the extraordinary view of the Apulian red earth and of the rich vegetation of the Itria Valley surrounding the trulli and being a part of it (olive trees, holm oak, oaks, carob trees, prickly pears, rosemary, lavender and fruit trees). A treat for the eyes and for the senses.
For the first meal of the day, the most important, there will be everything you need for a complete and wholesome breakfast to prepare on your own. On request, it can be enriched with cakes and typical products of traditional Apulian cuisine. Be it outdoors, on one of the two wonderful verandas, or indoors the kitchen-living room, you will enjoy a unique and enticing view to start your day in the best possible way.
Spending time together with friends and family are among my most cherished memories at Tre Casiedde, and I really wish each and every one of my guests to form the same memories during their stay here. On request and booking in advance, I can organize small functions and drinks, indoors and outdoors, to share with friends, family, colleagues. Overnight stay not necessary.
Yoga and meditation
Peace and tranquility, fresh and pure air, wide horizons and contact with nature make Tre Casiedde the perfect residence among trulli to practice yoga and meditation in total relax and outdoors. I have been long practicing and, if they wish, I can support my guests to start this journey of their body and soul.
Just like I did with interior decoration, I have brought something from my journeys to my kitchen. In my indoor lamia room or on the veranda, you can taste, on request, many different teas from the oriental tradition bringing the flavor of far away places and herbal teas made with aromatic and therapeutic herbs from the area. A simple pause will turn into an experience to remember and tell your loved one about.
Hiking and biking
My land is a vital and revitalizing part of Tre Casiedde and my guests can experience it any time. I always suggest relaxing walks in the groove around the trulli, to pause in the shadow of olive trees. Bicycle rides, with your own or with a rented bike, among the beautiful fruit trees (pear, lemon, fig, cherry and almond trees), caressed by the scent of lavender, will be impossible to forget.
Discover the most beautiful cities of the Itria Valley to visit during your stay at Tre Casiedde.
Ostuni (13 km from Tre Casiedde)
Ostuni is a delightful little town built on three hills and also known as “the white town” for the typical white lime washed walls of its houses. The old town, with its intricate tangle of alleys, narrow streets and small lanes surrounded by snow white buildings, is truly unforgettable. Unmissable monuments to visit are the cathedral and the archbishop’s palace.
It is a well known tourist destination, to visit all through the year. To know more about it, visit the website of the municipality (link a http://www.comune.ostuni.br.it/turismo/la-citta-bianca2/)
Cisternino (6 km from Tre Casiedde)
The Italian national association of municipalities (ANCI) voted it among one of the most beautiful villages of the country; Cisternino is a jewel on the crown of the Itria Valley, up at 400 meters of height and overlooking it. The little town, built starting from the XI century, is perfectly preserved and can be visited by tourists interested in its history and folk traditions. The most relevant monuments include Torre Grande (the Great Tower), built under Frederick II of Swabia, and the Chiesa Madre, the main church, dedicated to Saint Nicholas.
Cisternino is on the path of the “ciclovia dell’acqua” (link alla pagina wikipedia (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciclovia_dell%27acqua), a charming cycling path running along the Apulian aqueduct.
Martina Franca (10 km from Tre Casiedde)
Martina Franca is the most important town of the Itria Valley. Visiting its old town, rich of wonderful baroque buildings, will leave you speechless for the beauty and magnificence of its palaces and churches. Not to miss is the San Martino Minor Basilica.
Since 1974 Martina Franca has been the home of a renowned festival (http://www.festivaldellavalleditria.it/) held in summer and hosting world level operas, concerts and dance performances.
