A lovely spacious property perfect for large families with lots of different eating and seating areas so you have room to chill. A great pool area with a very large pool and large grounds to explore. Everything you need for a holiday. We were three generations and we all enjoyed ourselves. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and the bathrooms plentiful. The updated ones were particularly well done. The location was great just a few minutes drive from St Astier and supermarket and restaurants and half an hour or so from Brantôme which is a beautiful place to visit. We would happily recommend this property and would love to visit again.
PRETTY DAMN AMAZING!
Property just fantastic to look at- picturesque and rustic and modern all together.
Property size superb- we were party of 7 including an 85 y.o mother-in-law (!), two 17 years old Yadults, and two couples. We all had both our own space and more than enough to entertain all of us for meals or games. All accessible to the different levels of ability. Immediate grounds beautiful and cornfields at rear a lovely view each morning and evening. No light pollution so night skies splendid- saw 5 (!) shooting stars in one sitting!
Property & fixtures and fittings standard is exceptional....facilities (not that I had intention of doing any washing but...) included everything to make a long stay fully do-able.And a shorter stay (6 days in our case) just so easy - dishwasher etc. Fridge size very accommodating.
Pool area superb and nice temperature to cool off in 38 degrees heat we had in late August.
Local area provided excellent supermarket, fabulous markets and good vet to satisfy current Pet Passport requirements if taking dog along.
We did and labrador Stanley loved property too- gardens big enough and secure enough for him to wander in and find shade.
Local towns - Periguex, Brantome & Aubeterre sur Drone (fresh water beach !)- all worth visiting.
A lovely spacious property with a perfect mixture of traditional and modern.
We stayed at Guibaudie as a party of 4 adults and 5 children aged 9 to 16 and the family dog. We had plenty of space in the house and the owners were very helpful in adding beds where we wanted them. The house itself is beautiful and the new kitchen is a fantastic focal point. The house was clean and extremely well equipped with great attention to detail. The gardens were extensive and very well kept as well as being fully enclosed so we had no worries about the dog! The pool is huge and kept beautifully. We made great use of the pool house with its shower, fridge and plenty of plastic glasses for refreshments. The house is well appointed in peaceful, secluded surroundings but still close to supermarkets and towns . We had a choice of several outside eating areas for all our alfresco lunches and evening bbqs. The owners, agents and maintenence staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. We had thoroughly relaxing holiday and have already recommended Guibaudie to friends!

The property is set in the heart of the Perigord area of the Dordogne, itself part of Aquitaine, which was at one time ceded to England as part of history’s convoluted Anglo-French relations. The area is famous for truffles, foie gras, wine, walnuts, forests and chateaux.
There are many local activities. These are not limited to the options listed opposite:
• Scenic drives
• Wine tasting – visit/tours – Bergerac/ Bordeaux (St Emilion)
• Water sports: canoeing – kayaking
• Cycling (bicycle hire)
• Mountain biking
• Swimming – freshwater & day trips to coastal beaches
• Horse riding / equestrian events
• Eating out! Restaurant visits
• Antique collecting
• Astronomy – being in the countryside, the night skies suffer very low light pollution, so there are great views of the planets, stars, and other astronomical events.
The property is centrally located for trips into the Dordogne and Vezere valleys this area is liberally sprinkled with chateaux, fortified towns etc. There are local pre-historical attractions; mentioning 2 – the town of Montignac is 40 minutes away and is the site of the Lascaux caves, discovered in the 1930’s and containing original cave paintings. Les Eyzies hosts troglodyte villages.
