About Jan Emery & John Blaus
Jan and John moved from Doncaster in South Yorkshire to Montaigu de Quercy in 2014 and have loved every minute! Married for 8 years, we wanted to get away from our line of work in the UK (education and training) and live a "simple life" with no travelling! The no travelling is true - the simple life not! We have got fully involved with the local society - members of the International Club, the local Am Dram team, the gardening club, the Gourmet Club and any other social activity we can. Jan is a vegetarian - John is not. Vegetarians are not particularly well catered for in this part of France. We do offer to cater for guests evening meals if required.
Jan Emery & John Blaus purchased this Barn in 2014
Why Jan Emery & John Blaus chose Montaigu-de-Quercy
We fell in love with the property for its location and the fabulous woodwork in the ceiling. The gite certainly has a wow factor when you see it for the first time. We are located just outside Montaigu de Quercy, a short 15 minute walk down shady footpaths. Montaigu has all the necessary amenities you require for a holiday with a choice of 4 restaurants. The gite is part of a former ferme auberge (farm restaurant) so the location has a large room which we use for a host of different social events including play readings

Fantastic property. Hosts are great and super helpful. The gite is so well equipped and one of the most comfortable gites we have stayed in. The pool area was totally private and well cared for, outside eating space and BBQ perfect for some family time. Thanks both for a great Holiday, so great we will be back next year 😀
Glad you made it back safely to the UK. We loved having you, Darren and your girls stay here and we look forward to seeing you again next year... The kittens will have grown by then! Show off that fantastic tan and make everyone at work jealous! Best wishes. Jan & John
Peaceful gite with lots of character.
Hi Colette and Rob. Hope you got back safely to NZ and managed to see some of the tennis..... Would love to see you back here again for more walks. Best wishes

Very relaxing stay in a beautiful stone house
We had a great time - the house was very spacious and well appointed. We loved the swimming pool and outside area. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and accommodating and offered lots of advice on places to go.
A wonderful stay in a beautiful setting.
We would go back with no hesitation. The gite was well appointed, very comfortable ( plenty of room for 4 adults ) in a beautiful location. The peace and views were glorious. Jan and John were wonderful hosts. You couldn't help but feel a sense of calm in the grounds and pool.
We loved every minute of it and were genuinely sad at having to leave.
Hi Caroljne, Mike, Nina and Charlotte
We are so pleased you enjoyed your week stay with us. The week absolutely flew by! The weather is as hot and it's the Pere Quepas festival for the week, so the town is buzzing with concerts and night markets. John and I hope to see you again soon. Please pass on our thanks to Nina re her advice on the hens.
Relaxing and welcoming
The barn was extremely well furnished, maintained and of high cleanliness. All rooms were spacious and every detail had been considered. Jan and John, the owners were flexible and accommodating. The owners invited us to a local music event in the small village where the food and locals were lovely.
I certainly would recommend this place and would have no hesitation about returning.
I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us - shame it was short!
You can eat out at local village events every night, with free music and great atmosphere. We went to Beauville tonight and had a fabulous evening despite the summer storm. Hope to see you again in September. Jan
Filiol Gite owned by Jan & John Emery. Montaicue de Quercy
This converted barn was absolutely amazing. Every detail had been thought about in the conversion, furnishings & equipment. Having 2 en suite bedrooms was very useful & the living area was very large & spacious.
It was on the outskirts of the village which had all shops & restaurants needed. The surrounding countryside & villages were beautiful, quiet & unspoiled.
The immediate surroundings owned by Jan & John were delightful & included a beautiful swimming pool & large seating area just outside
our front door.
Finally Jan & John themselves were delightful, very welcoming, full of useful information & always very very helpful.
Altogether a wonderful holiday. We may well be back.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. It was a shame the weather wasn't its usual glorious self - it's made up for it now! We hope you decide to come back and see us again in the future. Best wishes to you both
Montaigu de Quercy is in the heart of the Quercy Blanc region - renowned for its bastide towns, its foie gras and the Malbec wine from the Cahors region. A great place for nature lovers, alkers and cyclists.
