The sandy beach is monents away . Marazion has galleries, gift shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs for all budgets. A visit to the amazing island of St Michael's Mount is a must whilst staying in Marazion and at low tide it is possible to walk across the ancient causeway (at high tide you can hop on the small ferry). The medieval castle is surrounded by subtropical gardens but be sure to check opening times as these can vary. The nearby market town of Penzance can be reached in minutes by car but keen walkers may enjoy the level stretch of the coastal path from Marazion. Considered as the capital of West Cornwall, this historic harbour town has an abundance of individual shops and art galleries including the contemporary gallery space the Exchange, the largest west of Bristol. If the sun is shining, simply enjoy a leisurely stroll along the spectacular seafront promenade. To the north is St Ives, the most famous of the Cornish holiday towns with its sandy beaches and azure blue waters. The town is perhaps best reached by train from Penzance along the coastal branch line, arguably one of the most scenic routes in the country.
