Jarrow, a 19th century coral-stone villa, is nestled on the beautiful south coast of Half Moon Bay, St. Lawrence. Its gentle elevation allows you to sit on the sun deck and watch the fishermen go out to the sea early in the morning , and return with the day's catch -- which you can have freshly prepared in the comfort of your villa or barbecue on the large deck.

The gingerbread-style villa boasts three double bedrooms, two large bathrooms, and spacious mirrored dressing rooms.

From the foyer, living and dining area and well-equipped kitchen, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the sea.

The unique beach at your doorstep. is protected by a reef which makes it excellent for swimming in the day or at night. You might be joined with friendly turtles!

The skylights in the bedrooms and lounge enable you to view the beauty of the moonlight, and to welcome the morning sun.

Timothy Boyce is the Managing Director of Tourism Investment management Inc. He has in excess of 30 years experience in Resort Hotel Management both in the operations and Financial capacity. He takes a pride in the restoration of Historic properties and Villa jarrow which is over 200 years old is one of those historic properties that he boldly defied the Banks and the Engineers to restore. A wonderful job was done over the two years that it took to restore the property.

The repeat ratio in excess of 60% is a testimony of the vacation experience that is offered at this Historic Property nestled in the heart of most of requisites for a lasting holiday experience.

2) The best vacation spot on the island! Left on 04/17/2014 for a stay in March 2014. This was our second time spending our vacation at Villa Jarrow and we could not have asked for anything more. The location, view and accommodations were just perfect. We saw many people walking by on the beach, looking at us with envy as we lounged or barbecued on the front balcony overlooking the ocean. In addition to the Villa being a great place to stay, the water out front was perfect for swimming. Clear blue and calm, with beautiful sand bars that we could walk or swim out to. We even saw a sea turtle swimming through the water on many of the days we sat out front.

The location was the best! Despite driving around the whole island, and visiting several other parishes and beaches, we came to the conclusion that we still thought ours was the best of the bunch! We would definitely return again and have recommended Villa Jarrow to many of our friends already. Timothy was the best - he called to check in on us several times during the week always jolly and willing to help us out with any inquiries we had! He even drove us to the grocery store on the first day so we could stock up our kitchen for the week! Thanks Timothy for making our stay as amazing as it was!

What makes this villa unique

This Property was built in Barbados a business man from the Industrial Coal Mining Town of Jarrow on the River Tyne in England. Its on one of the best beaches on the Island and one of the unique features of this Beach at Half Moon Bay is the historical practice of fishermen bringing in the days catch of Fresh Fish available in the Bay . The fishermen catch them fresh off the Reef and fillet them ready for the grill !!! Our guest love this experience!!!

At this location you are within walking distance to all requisites for an enjoyable Holiday. A Taxi or hired car is only necessary if you are going for an Island Tour. You can also swim with the Turtles in the Bay... The patio of the Villa Overlooks the Beach..... The Bay is where you will experience a New Years Eve Fantastic Fireworks display on the Water. This is put on by the businesses in the St. Lawrence Gap.

There are many other activities awaiting our guest. Fabulous place, in particularly, for families with children. Right on the beach, sheltered bay

We were very happy with this Villa. We had(sadly) only a week (myself, my wife, our daughter and 3 year old grandson). First of all Timothy was very helpful for anything we needed. He was there to greet us and gave us a full tour of the place, including transportation to the local supermarket, which was only a 10 minute walk away. For those not happy carrying groceries that far, the supermarket has a shuttle to take folks back to the local villas. We walked...This villa has stairs to a lovely beach, which for the most part was deserted except for us, a few local fishermen who were happy to sell us very fresh fish in the mornings, and the occasional tourist walking along the beach (not often since anyone wanting a beach walk would have to enter the water just past our place due to rocks blocking the sand). The bay was also sheltered by a reef a few hundred meters offshore...and the water was fairly calm, and shallow enough to walk to the reef in low tide. The bay was frequented by 6-10 large turtles feeding on the bottom, which made snorkeling delightful.

Our grandson spent almost the whole week on the beach and had the time of his life.

The villa itself was also very well furnished and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The only reason we didn't give the place 5 stars(would choose 4 1/2 if available) is because of some late night music from one of the bars on a couple (only) of the nights. While I slept soundly, my wife was kept up a couple of nights by the music. The walls kept out most of the noise, however if you want to sleep with the windows open to hear the surf, you may hear some music in the one bedroom closest to the ocean. I went to sleep every night to the sound of the waves and didn't hear the music. It was delightful.

We did some of our own cooking and ate out at local restaurants on the St. Lawrence Gap. Two very fine restaurants (Castaways and Primo, both overlooking the bay) were lovely...great food and good prices, but get filled up quickly so reservations are important. There are several other places to eat on the Gap. On Sundays there is a very popular fish fry on the next beach....(5 minute walk)...so popular in fact that you should buy tickets in advance.

We didn't rent a car as we only had a week and we chose to enjoy the location - beach, relatively calm water, nearby restaurants, turtles, shopping a short walk away....no need to go further.

We hope to return next year.

Great place!

Beautiful place! Tim was a fantastic host! The beach was great, the rooms and general area was very clean. Right beside the gap... karaoke bar is closed down now.. great restaurants within 2 mins walking distance. Beach was great, not as nice as Accra but still great. There is wifi for your phones, all bedrooms have air conditioning and the cleaning service was fantastic. 6 of us stayed here and we were all very comfortable. You can walk to the grocery store (10 min walk). Will definitely stay here again. Cheers

Its the spot with the added ingredient of our knowing that when a person travels on vacation they are looking for a lasting experience and we try our best to deliver!!! Accra Beach is larger and its always crowded with a relative choppy waters. Compared to the Beach of Half Moon Bay that is calm and ideal for swimming, especially for kids, day or night because its protected by a reef. Its a virtual private Beach. Come , see and believe!

best vacation ever!!

I spent months searching for the perfect vacation house and when we arrived at Villa Jarrow I knew I had found it. My kids and grandkids would stay there the week of Aug.7th to the 13th and when they leave my husband and I would spend the next week. My husand loved the place so much that if it is ever for sale he would buy it. My family had a great time there. They were able to get around without a car. The grandkids loved being on the beach. My son was able to walk toa fitness center and his wife was able to go jogging and she felt very safe. I would definitely use this place over and over again. Mr. Boyce is very nice. He is calm, clear and patient. I had a lot of questions and he answered them all either by texting or by calling. I would like to congratulate Mr. Boyce on his beautiful Villa. We wish him the best and hope that it will always be there for future generations to love and admire as we did. We really enjoyed it . It felt as though we were on our honeymoon. No cares in the world. I have been home for a week and I miss the place.

Its Rosanne the house keeper! the fishermen in the bay that brings daily fresh fish! The turtles that make the bay their home as they are fed and protected by the fishermen! And much much more priceless positives that money cannot buy.. And can you imagine that the Bank and Engineers wanted us to push this Victorian treasure down and rebuild a modern property? Perfect!

This was undoubtably the best location for a vacation we could have asked for. The pictures do not do it justice. I loved being able to stroll right out with my coffee and see the sea so close. Loved watching the sea turtles from the deck. The people were great. Timothy was a gracious host. I will be back as soon as I can get there! I have fallen for Barbados!

The place is perfect if you want a genuine (versus canned resort type) experience in Barbados. The house is historic and well kept. About the location, my daughter said it best "our backyard is the OCEAN!"

Warning should come with Rental

Really beautiful Villa- close to the beach and right at St Lawrence Gap- however there is a karaoke bar right across the street- it is like the bar is in the bedroom- it is very, very, very loud and last until 2:30 in the morning. It really ruined our vacation- also there is a restaurant right beside the villa and you can hear people dinner conversations from the outdoor deck of the restaurant. Would not recommend and I feel very put out that we were not told about this before renting.

Owner's Response: We were not advised at the time of writing our first response to this Review. See below!! However the reason for the 4 continuous nights of Karaoke was that the Bar was closing and they were trying to get rid of their stock that was sold at cost price. The KARAOKE BAR is now CLOSED . Some of my guest are very sorry others are happy... COME See and Believe!!! This Karaoke Bar operates on a Thursday and by Law should be closed by 1 AM. The police station is 2 minutes away and they enforce this!!! Many of our guest frequent this Bar and we have a Families who come every year to sing there. Some guest love it others do not!!! I must apologies to this client and wish that they had informed us about their situation as we do get good cooperation from the Bar. The 3 nights it operated were the exception and I will investigate this! The Villa sits next to the Italian restaurant and an Art studio. From the deck which overhangs the Beach we can see the dining of the restaurant guest as the restaurant also overhangs the Beach. Our guest love the Restaurant!! Villa Jarrow like most Beach Front accommodation on the Island attracts business that caters to guest needs and the Villa is within walking distance to most activity. The Down Side is more night life and activity.... The up side no Taxi, Hired Car or long journeys to and fro in the evenings... The police station is also close to the Villa and we do have an association with them and the Karaoke Bar to accommodate any guest request. Please see our other reviews and as I always say come , see and Believe as the positives of this Historic Property that is restored along its Historical lines far out weighs the only negative of proximity to a Bar!! There are 2 other reviews dating back to 2008 that are no longer relevant as the Night Club is now a Brazilian Restaurant and the other client came at the time of the Carnival (Crop Over) festival which is much activity all over the Island. Our repeat Clientele is over 60%!!! Please Come, See and Believe!!!
