What a lovely little getaway this is. I grew up on the island and surrently live in CA. It is refreshing to know that there are still places like this one, tht have kept it's integrity. As more and more people flock to Hawaii it is my hope that the Kama aina's will move to protect and restore places of heritage. I remember a time not too terrible long ago when little home like this wonderul cottage dotted this side of the island. Thank you for the accomodations the stirring of old memories and for aplce to hide form it all. Will be back...

Adorable cottage a 2 minute walk to the sand!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our time on the North Shore at Ke Iki Beach in this little adorable cottage. Such a gem. So perfectly located - we could walk 2 minutes to the beautiful beach out back, walk 5 minutes to Sharks Cove for phenomenal snorkeling (like an aquarium with such a massive variety of fish and calm clear water), few minute drive or walk to Foodland and tons of yummy food trucks, 5 min drive to famous Waimea Bay and Waimea Farmers Market, 10-15 min drive to Haleiwa or Turtle Bay. So many great beaches. The home was cozy and had all the amenities our little family of 3 could need. Loved the outdoor shower (we never even used the indoor shower!) and side yard. Though it had A/C - we didn't even use it because the fans cooled the house so well. Very clean and well maintained. It all had a super chill vibe for if you want to avoid the craziness of Waikiki. Would most definitely recommend a stay here.

Comfortable, convenient cottage in a great location

  • 4 of 5

My family of four enjoyed our stay here enormously. The place is very clean, the kitchen well appointed and you're steps from the beach. With two bikes included, we rented two more and hardly used the car, biking up to Sunset, to Sharks Cove to snorkel, Foodland for groceries and Waimea Bay to swim. There's great food to be had, too, from some of the food trucks towards Foodland. Note that there is one bedroom with one (queen-size?) bed. The other bed is a pull-out sofa in the living room. The sofa bed is not that great, but don't let that dampen your enthusiasm for this lovely place. We certainly didn't!

Great stay at Ke Iki Beach

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was as advertised. Donna has thought of everything you might need. Great location with beautiful beach just steps from the cottage. Rode the bikes everyday. This is a great way to see the North Shore.

Charming cottage perfect for mom and I!!!

  • 5 of 5

My mom came to visit, and I wanted to give her the north shore experience. This cottage was perfect! Don't expect a huge house here, but do expect a full kitchen, clean and tidy bathroom, gas grill, full laundry center, and a huge yard for lounging in the beach chairs in private. You do share the property with another cottage, but your grill and picnic setup is on the far side between the home and the fence.

Steps to Ke Iki beach with a private beach access right out the back of the property down a lane. Property is 3-4 houses from the beach right on the small neighborhood lane (Ke Iki Rd), but noise is not a problem. All we heard and saw were the local folks walking and riding along on their way to surf or eat.

Beach chairs, bicycles, and a few other goodies made us feel at home.

Felt like we got good value while visiting the north shore. Would come back again!

Great spot steps from everything

  • 5 of 5

The Ke Iki beach cottage was exactly what we wanted in a North Shore getaway. The size was right for us (two adults unplugging for a week), and the house came equipped with everything we needed -- bikes, beach chairs, a little cooler, blender, and plenty of cookware. We visited in early February, so no snorkeling at Shark's Cove (there is snorkeling gear at the house, too!), but the waves along Sunset Beach and at Waimea Bay were tremendous, and watching the surfers was a blast.

The location can't be beat. Lots of great trees and foliage in the yard so it has a bit of a tropical hideaway feel to it. Gardeners came in every couple days to mow and trim vegetation back, and they even picked bananas off the banana tree for us. Delicious. 500 feet or so to Ke Iki Beach, and about a 1/4 mile walk or bike ride to Foodland and the great selection of food trucks on the north side of Foodland. The vendors there have done a great job -- all of them have very pleasant seating areas that overlook Shark's Cove, and if you sit in the right spot you can watch the sun go down. Highly recommend The Elephant Truck (Thai), Kau Kau (Barbecue), and North Shore Tacos. Also, it's apparently a BYOB situation, so a lot of people make a trip to Foodland for beverages before they sit down to eat. This house is also right on the North Shore multi-use path, so walking and biking to other beaches to the north (Pipeline, Sunset) is easy, and it's great for morning runs, too.

Donna and Daryl were very responsive and prompt on all communication, and were a pleasure to deal with. This rental is a great value, and we definitely recommend for couples and small families.

Great spot to relax and enjoy the true North Shore lifestyle.

  • 4 of 5

Thank you Donna, the cottage was perfect for our small family. The kids loved being close to the beach and being able to use the boogy boards and the bikes. Being close to Foodland was convenient but having the Volcom on while we were there was just magic - we cruised down there every day either on the bikes or walking and had a ball. Being able to park out the front was a bonus and we felt a lot safer with the car being out the front. We have been to Oahu many times and this was our best trip yet as we got to experience the North Shore at it's best (and I got some great waves). Thank you, we'll be back.
