Fun Big Bear Rental

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at this cabin for four nights at the end of June and had a great time. Cabin is just as described and the pictures are accurate. Located in a nice quiet area, no traffic, easily accessible, with no issues for parking. Well stocked both inside and outside. Loved all the outdoor spaces to hang out and enjoy the lake and the beautiful views. Lake level is low right now which is not ideal but owner extended the dock so you still have access to the dock/water from the property. We brought paddle boards and were able to easily launch them from the dock. Property is still a work in progress/cabin in the mountains so there were a few minor issues which I would say were pretty typical for this type of vacation home, but none of them effected our stay in any way. Owner checked in with us upon our arrival and also mid way through our stay and I felt that if we did have a real issue he would have worked to try and get it taken care of. The improvements they have made so far look great. Owner was easy to work with and sent us back our security deposit in a timely manner. Would certainly recommend this property to family and friends and would love to stay again in the future.

Fantastic for our family holiday retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family of eleven people from age 2 to 72 enjoyed the 2015 Thanksgiving holiday here and made many memories together. A great location, the lodge offered wonderful views of the lake nestled in a secluded cul-de-sac that had very little traffic which was perfect for winter strolls. The owners were very patient with us as our three families came to consensus on a final holiday location, and were available by phone every step of the way from walking in the door to locking up and saying goodbye to a holiday our family will always remember!

Second time around

  • 5 of 5

There is something really nice and familiar about staying at a house for the second time. You know where everything is and what you don't need to bring! Although we had a small group this time, and two little ones I think we enjoyed the house even more this summer. The house was clean and neat, kitchen still stocked with pots and pans and more dishes and silverware that would serve a bunch! The kids loved the beach area and we spent most evenings there watching the sunset. The owner is wonderful to work with and more than willing to help in anyway he can. If you want a quiet, neat, fun place to stay with lots of room to spread out in, this is it! Did I say the beds are all really comfy! This is a great area, close to everything to the Village and other areas of interests yet is still a quiet and safe place to stay. Hopefully this house will be available when we come back next summer~~

Truly equipped with everything you need for a beautiful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I decided to surprise my girlfriend with a lakefront cabin for her birthday and this cabin was absolutely perfect. With a total of 11 close friends and family for the weekend, the size of the cabin was perfect. One of the main reasons I chose this cabin over other available cabins within the same price range was that we were able to watch the sunset from the deck and dock located behind the cabin...just something to think about when you are looking at cabins with back patios and decks that face east or west. In addition, there were just so many areas to lounge in around the property! There is a fire pit in the front patio with patio furniture, wooden rocking chairs, and a propane grill...there is a downstairs pool room with a couch and chairs...an upper patio deck with patio furniture overlooking the lake, a lower patio area with a swinging bench, a horseshoe (game) area below the patio, a lounge area with sand below the horseshoe area, and then a lower deck with lounge chairs that leads to the boat dock. Even in the lower deck area there is more patio furniture and another grill.

Another feature of this cabin that we loved was the kitchen. My girlfriend and I have stayed in many cabins in different areas and were so impressed with how well equipped this cabin was! Even though many cabins are described as "fully stocked" or "everything you need for cooking", we've found a number of them to be quite sparse. We've been in many situations where cooking utensils and pots/pans are limited and pantries are left with little to none (or expired) cooking supplies/condiments. This cabin's kitchen had everything we needed to assist us in cooking all of our meals for the weekend. We literally kept saying "Wow" when we opened the pantry and the drawers.

As for the bedrooms, all of the bedrooms include linens/blankets/pillows and fit all 11 of us nicely. The showers were great too! The downstairs master bedroom has a newer, tiled walk in shower with 3 shower heads (tall/medium/short) with great water pressure. The upstairs guest shower has a ceiling mounted rainfall type shower head...those are the only two I tried so I can't comment on the upstairs master bedroom shower (I'm sure it was just as nice though).

If I had more room to type I would, but to sum it all up, the owner (Doug) was so easy to work with and made the rental experience such a breeze...we really enjoyed our stay and are definitely planning on staying again next year!

Beautiful Lake Property

  • 5 of 5

This was my 2nd vacation at this house. We stayed 4 families 13 people including 4 kids (ages 3-12) this time. Lots of everything you need. Clean and neat. I noticed that it is remodeled. All my friends loved it and they like to come back for summer vacation. Deck was our favorite spot with the 2nd barbeque down there was a great idea. Very close to main Summit Ski Area 10 minutes drive. Nice hiking place 15 minutes. Close to restaurants and shops.

And owner is really nice and easy to communicate.
