High School tournament
This was the nicest home we have rented at Buggs Island and we have tried several over the year’s tournament fishing. Clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the gravel access road. My boat got covered in dust. But I would still rent again. My wife wanted to stay a extra day.

Lake retreat
This property was amazing. The host was wonderfully accommodating. There were so many things there for us to use. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We will definitely stay there again.

Amazing property
I believe this was by far the cleanest home we have ever booked. It was so cozy and decorated beautifully. I sit out on the deck every morning with my coffee. Dock was very easily accessed. We went down to fish but took our kayaks too. We would stay here again.

Driftwood Dreams
The cottage, and property was absolutely beautiful. The home decor and overall cleanliness was a 5 out 5. The only drawback, and this is coming from someone who likes to travel is I have never experienced the property owners coming to the property while it was being rented out. Not saying that it is a bad thing, just a different experience for me. What was bizarre was one evening while my husband and brother-in-law were fishing two ladies showed up and one of the ladies shared that they had the right of way to the property, instantly making my husband ask, "Is it okay that we are down here", she responded "yes", but felt it necessary to share with him what her ownership in the property was. The very next evening, I am assuming these individuals were the owners of the home showed up, intoxicated, cursing. They were harmless, but none the less very inappropriate in my opinion. As property owners, I would recommend that they decide if they are going to rent just the cottage without access to the lake or both, because it was a very uncomfortable situation to be in. Without hesitation I would have given a 5-star review had it not been for those two particular incidents.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I have deep roots in Mecklenburg County, VA and have fond memories of spending time on Buggs Island Lake. Our love for the lake inspired us to acquire this stunning property, which we consider our own slice of paradise. We are thrilled to offer it to you as a place to unwind and recharge your mind, body, and spirit. Whether you are seeking a peaceful retreat or a fun-filled adventure, our home on Buggs Island Lake provides an ideal setting to create lasting memories with your loved ones.

What makes this property unique

The water level at Buggs Island is subject to fluctuations caused by rainfall and the needs of the Corps of Engineers. These fluctuations can impact the placement of our dock in the water. We make every effort to adjust the dock according to the water level, but occasional fluctuations may result in the dock being in or out of the water.

Our wifi is powered by Verizon Mifi Hotspot, and it generally functions well. However, when multiple devices are connected, the connection may slow down slightly.
