THIS ROCHE HARBOR CONDO IS NEW TO OUR PROGRAM. It provides a delightful view across the lagoon looking at Roche Harbor Resort. The view is nearly straight east overlooking the marina shore side of Roche Harbor where there are many amenities in a short walking distance including shops, restaurants and a good market. The lagoon in front of the condo can have many types of waterfowl, seals, otters, raccoons and of course deer. If you are lucky a fox sometimes passes through. Bring your favorite pair of binoculars.

This two bedroom, two story condo has a queen bedroom on the main floor and two queens in the upstairs loft, accessed by a spiral staircase. The staircase would be difficult to navigate if carrying luggage so please realize its nature could possibly make comfortable access by "mature" individuals challenging. Also be aware there is no bathroom on the loft level.

Enjoy the cozy eating nook for meals or sit at the counter in the kitchen so you can be part of the meal planning and preparation. Or eat out at the restaurants at Roche Harbor, all a few minutes walking time from this condo unit.

There are two tiled bathrooms: one with combo tub/shower and one with a walk-in shower. Both bathrooms are on the main floor.

Everything is here for a wonderful time at the most popular resort in the San Juan Islands.

Please note there are 22 steps to get to the entrance. There is also a steep narrow interior spiral staircase to the bedrooms (easiest to go down backwards).

Guests who wish to use videoconferencing, streaming services, or multiple simultaneous internet connections should be aware that performance may not meet the levels they are accustomed to. Roche Harbor

Overall - great place - location, clean, view, kitchen stocked with necessities. Few things: - unit has no laundry inside unit. Need quarters. More effort than we would've wanted with young kids. Community laundry room has only 1 washer too. - Shower water temp was never super hot during our week there. 90/95 degrees max. - no bathroom upstairs & steep/thin spiral staircase which isn't pictured.

Nice place but need to be aware of the stairs

The place is very clean and has a lovely view. The listing, however, needs to be updated to share details about the interior. The stairs are a very narrow spiral staircase to the loft, it is hard to impossible to take a suit case up. If a person has any handicap at all, these stairs won’t be negotiable. There really needs to be a picture of this staircase on the listing. The property is listed as having 2 bedrooms, but the the loft has no privacy, so is not really a bedroom. It would be fine for older children or a young couple. There is no bathroom up on the loft, so for us mature people, who need a bathroom in the middle of the night, negotiating the very narrow spiral stairs in the dark to get to the bathroom on the ground floor is a problem. Again the place is nice, and has a very well appointed kitchen, but it needs full disclosure on the interior layout for mature couples to be aware.

We will be coming back

We had a tremendous two week stay. Part vacation, part working. Great location, great sun, great views. Recently renovated, equipped nicely and enough soft goods (d/w, laundry det., paper towels) to get us started. You can read all the other reviews to see how great this place is. And we will come back assuming some dates come up for 2024. However, two things to note. My wife worked in the loft (various cables for hooking up the monitor are in the desk, but bring your own cables if you have a Mac). We could not carry on two conference calls at the same time, the sound carries from the loft into the main area and vice versa. Also, laundry is in the adjacent building (or dockside). Normally we wouldn't pick a place without a w/d, glad we slipped up this time.

Relaxing in Roche

I had a wonderful time in Roche with the kids. The condo was perfect for the three of us and we all slept well in the very comfortable beds. The kitchen was nicely supplied with everything we needed and we loved walking down to get ice cream after dinner. A wonderful break from all the chaos of life!
