Moose Cabin: Cute! Great Location-Deck-Grill-Firepit-Views!

Overview

Property Details

Updated: Aug 25, 2016
Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)

Need to get away? Check yourself into our Moose Cabin.

Then curl up with a good book in front of the window overlooking Shadow Mountain Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. In the summer, wander out to the deck to sip your coffee and search for the local wildlife that frequents the property.

Climb up the spiral staircase to the loft with a Queen size bed. It is a beautiful retreat at the top of the cabin with a bed worthy of sleeping late. The kids get their own space in the Clubhouse downstairs - complete with a bunkbed, Mr. Bear, games, and a glow-in-the-dark starry ceiling.

***This cabin was renovated in January 2009. We have added a gorgeous pine ceiling, new carpet, all new furniture, and many fun decorating touches. We believe the Moose Cabin to be a comfortable, relaxing retreat and base of operations for your explorations of Grand County.***

**We also own the Star Cabin #183295. Rent one or both cabins! They are on the same 1/2 acre, both private, but make a great place for two families to stay.

About the Owner

We love the Grand Lake area and all of the outdoor activities it offers. We especially enjoy relaxing at the cabin when we are not going up to work! As lovely as the cabin is, we are always making improvements. We figure if we are comfortable there, our guests will be as well.

with us! We really enjoyed our time there. Our toddler would sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" when she looked at the bunk room ceiling. :) Thanks again!

Wonderful, adorable cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was everything we could have wanted for our get away at the lake! It had a spectacular view of Grand Lake and the mountains. It was adorable, clean, and quaint. Angie and Bob provided so many ideas on things to do as well! We even got to see a moose at the cabin! We would definitely like to come back sometime!

It was a great location with a wonderful view of the lake. Very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

The location was great with good roads etc. We enjoyed the deck and the view of the lake. It was very nice to get up early in the morning and see the steam rising from the lake. We did see two moose stroll by in the middle of the afternoon. The cabin was very roomy and although it was only the two of us, it would have been comfortable for more. The cabin was clean. We did lose electricity, it was a community wide outage, and Angie was quick to call the power company. At the time we did not realize the outage was community wide. Grand Lake is a great laid back location with good restaurants etc. We were at the Cabin in August but we were curious about winter access and how difficult it might be to get to the cabin during the winter. We would definitely recommend the property to others.

Owner's Response: We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay! It is always great when the moose remember to stop by as well. :) Thankfully, that was a short power outage! In the winter, the cabin is a cozy place with lots of snow to enjoy. The highways and county roads are well maintained, and our snowplow guy keeps our driveway in good shape. It is a good idea to bring a vehicle with good all-weather tires or snow tires, to make access to the driveway easier. Come back up for the snowmobiling, ice fishing, and cross country skiing! Or, just hole up in the cabin, drink cocoa, and put up your feet!!

Perfect weekend in a cozy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer than the weekend! Angie and Bob were very responsive to any questions prior to arrival. We were very happy to find sufficient tools to cook with (especially a decent knife!). We had multiple moose spottings as well as deer! Hope to be back soon!

Anniversary weekend

  • 5 of 5

We spent our 24th anniversary at the Moose cabin. Even though mother nature played a hand of snow in our weekend it did not damper our spirits. We had perfect accommodations and equipment for dealing with weather. We definitely would stay again.

From the Owner

Skiing, hiking, wildlife, views, fishing, boating, snowshoeing, and Rocky Mountain National Park! We really love to get out of the city and kick back in the mountains. Plus, Grand Lake is a fun little town with an Old West atmosphere.
