Great little house in the heart of the peninsula

Cute carriage house tucked in to very central street. Very close to King St. shopping, free trolley and many restaurants in walking distance. Kitchen is well-equipped and decor is tasteful and the house was very clean! This little house has all you need including chairs and a cooler for a day at the beach! The owner was very friendly and responsive. She also was very accommodating to make adjustments if we had needed due to being delayed by Delta. I would definitely recommend this house to a friend.

Wonderful location

This is a very cozy little 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage right on the center of everything. Shops and eateries are literally right around the corner. The free DASH trolley is 2 blocks away. A car is not necessary during your stay. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. We consisted of two couples from opposite coasts who get together every couple of years. This was a perfect place to explore a new area and spend time catching up. The cottage lends itself to sitting around and chatting. The manager met us And oriented us to the area. Very present owner/manager. Note: if you need large, hotel type bathrooms, this is a historic area, so bathrooms are small.

We highly recommend this property.

A real gem!

Upon entering this property, I realized the pictures didn't do justice to how lovely it really was! We chose this location because we had four adults who wanted to stay together but needed two bathrooms. Location was also a huge factor. The only slightly disappointing thing was that the front bathroom was very small, especially the sink area. My brother in law had a difficult time squeezing into this area. There were no pictures on the website depicting this. I don't think this would have deterred us, but might be helpful to others. We rented a mid size car but didn't need it for any activities in the historic district. We either walked or used Uber. Brad was wonderful and very helpful. He even turned the placed inside out looking for jewelry that was left behind! If ever in Charleston again, we would definitely choose to stay here again!! As a side note: when talking to the locals, they were amazed that we were able to get a cottage so conveniently located in the historic district!!

A cozy cottage in the PERFECT location!

We were visiting Charleston for a wedding that was held within a mile of this lovely little house. Even on a busy wedding weekend we were able to see plenty of Downtown Charleston because it all was a short walk away. It was wonderful to be able to relax on the down time without the bustle of hotel living. It took some finesse, but we were even able to park our minivan in the driveway! We ended up leaving our two kids home, but it would have been the perfect place to stay with them as well. Clean, quaint, and the owner and caretakers were attentive so renting went smoothly.

Great Stay

This property was exactly as advertised. The house was very clean and well kept. The location is amazing and was a 6-7 minute walk to King St and many restaurants. The property manager Bradley was very attentive and responded immediately to any question or request. I will definitely look to stay here again if I am back in Charleston.

This historic home, locally referred to as a 'Freedman's Cottage', was originally built at the turn of the last century. Abandoned for many years, it was completely rebuilt in 2007 and retains the original foundation, traditional tin roof and hardwood floors. Modern and yet true to the original architectural style of the era, this comfortable cottage offers all conveniences and amenities.
