Welcome to the Tavern on the Bay Resort. Check in is 4pm. We have a bar and restaurant downstairs and plenty of parking for your Car and Boat. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The suites have been fully renovated to give you a luxurious beachy feeling.

THE LUCKY LUCIANO ROOM - WITH QUEEN SIZE BED
IT IS A SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY HISTORICAL LANDMARK. IT IS A VICTORIAN MANSION BUILT IN 1884.
IT WAS A BORDELLO DURING THE LATE 1800S, AND THEN BECAME A HANGOUT FOR NUCKY JOHNSON (FOR WHOM THE SHOW "BOARDWALK EMPIRE" ON HBO WAS BASED ON) - DURING THE PROHIBITION DAYS.

"So this place was a brothel in the 1800's and where mobsters would hide massive quantities of alcohol during the days of prohibition. A gangster was whacked in the basement after messing up on an order, and a young wife hung herself in room 7 after catching her cheating husband with a whore. Also, there's a ghost in the attic and he locks the door behind me from time to time." - Sam Trocki, proprietor of Tavern on the Bay (B&B/ steakhouse). Such a soulful joint with risidual traces of secrecy lingering in the air. You can feel it. These old walls have a story to tell....

Overnight in Somers Point

The online VRBO was easy to use, and simple! Joseph was a delight upon our arrival, he explained the layout of our room, the tavern was perfect for our first celebration drink and appetizer! I would recommend this Inn to my friends.

Nice place to stay

Stayed a night. Excellent location as you can get to the OCNJ bridge or Wawa in a few minutes, and also can walk to several restaurants and bars. Comfy bed and nice access to deck. Room was very clean other than a couple of ants due to an uncleaned crumb. But overall a wonderful stay would do it again.

Lovely night by the bay

We were looking for the perfect place to spend the night of the full supermoon & Tavern on the Bay Resort did not disappoint. We were greeted by Joseph, a very gracious host, whose check in instructions were clear & easy to follow. The hotel & room were very clean & the views drop the balconies were beautiful. The hotel has a restaurant & bar & offers outdoor seating with a view of Somers Point Bay. The resort is close to Ocean City & only half an hour from the Cape May Zoo. Would definitely stay again if we had the chance.

Very welcoming staff

I really enjoyed our experience at this property! Joseph was very attentive and contacted me prior to arrival with instructions and encouraged me to reach out once arrived. All staff were very friendly and attentive. The property was perfectly located on the bay and a short drive from the beach. Great restaurant on-site and others in walking distance. I really enjoyed the music on the beach next door as well.
