One bedroom plus Mezzanine with 1 full bathroom

2nd floor apartment in Victorian building on West 74th Street, off Columbus Avenue; around the corner from Fairway, Citarella, The Ansonia, The Dakota, Central Park with Strawberry Fields and Bethesda Fountain!

Walking distance to Museums such as the Met and Museum of Natural History which is just 4 blocks away.

We like this neighborhood because it is convenient and safe but still charming.

Down the block is Levain bakery, voted best NY restuarant. You have to get a chocolate chip cookie!!!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Visited relatives in New York and found the location of the apartment suited our requirements being 5 minutes walk to the Metro or Central Park, and around 10 minutes to the Lincoln Centre. The apartment itself was comfortable and the facilities as advertised. However, we did feel that the rental charge was higher compared to other apartments we had considered, but we would recommend it to anyone who needs to be in that area of NY. The close proximity of a Levain's bakery just down the street would be a good excuse to return.

Great location, charming NYC apartment

  • 5 of 5

We rented the apartment for our trip to NYC for college tours for my daughter. It was comfortable and well-appointed, as well as convenient to the 72nd street subway stations. It was also convenient to nice restaurants, bakeries, shopping, Central Park, and the museums. Getting to and from the various campuses we visited was super easy. We would definitely rent it again on another trip!

Upper West Side Living

  • 5 of 5

Rented this apartment for an out of town colleague for two weeks and it was perfect for his needs. The owner, Miriam, contacted me directly by phone to confirm my dates and made herself available directly for any questions beforehand. The apartment has everything you need and is clean and comfortable - great for a single, couple or a couple with children as there is a cozy low-ceilinged loft space with an additional bed. The location is in the heart of the Upper West Side with excellent restaurants, cafes and groceries all within a few minutes walk. Would definitely rent again for future visitors to the city.

Home away from home on the Upper West Side

  • 5 of 5

Just spent 4 nights here and love the location & the coziness of the apt. So peacefull sitting at breakfast looking out the windows at the tree-lined street & watching our NY world go by.

A block to my favorite part of Central Park - and walking distance to Lincoln Center.

Several very good restaurants within a block radius. We felt very much at home and hope to come again next year.

New York life

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed 5 nights with feeling of satisfaction and comfortable. It is easy to access to the two stations (very close to the apartment) so it is easy to access to midtown. Markets are also near the apt. Facilities like kitchen are good. Only one regretfulness is laundry. There is located in the basement and only one each of laundry and dryer. Also we need 7 quarters each to use. However we have options described in the instruction. Landry store is near the apt and price is reasonable. This is not a hotel, it is apartment so we felt the "New York life" as titled. So I recommend people who want to live in New York. You can feel it.

Great upper west side apt

  • 5 of 5

Great upper west side location near restaurants, subway, Central Park, Museum of Natural History, and Fairways (groceries, market). Attractive apt with original features, contemporary kitchen and bath, very high ceilings, and street views from windows for people watching. One bedroom plus loft bed--both comfortable. A/C quickly cools living area though doesn't quickly cool the bedroom. One washer & dryer in basement, at early hours I had it to myself. Tiny but great Levain Bakery at the end of the block is a treat.

Home away from home !!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is a real gem ... a very homely apartment, with tons of character.

It is very quiet, with virtually no road noise, and just the occasional 'sound' from adjoining

apartments, in the same block.

It had everything required for self catering, including a large supermarket nearby.

Very good TV, and WIFI connection (free) ... a good shower, plus bath.

Only 1.5 blocks from Central Park (Strawberry Field right there), it is an easy, and very pleasant walk to downtown - 5th Ave, Times Square etc.

Recommend PATSYS restaurant, only one block away - great food, prices, staff !!

Would definitely use this apartment, on next NYC visit !!!!
