We reserved this unit for 4 weeks and have stayed in it several times before so know how it used to be maintained. We have serious complaints about the condition of the unit.
Window shades - 2 don’t open at all, 2 others open partially and have holes in the shades; what is usually a bright and sunny unit is rather gloomy. We were informed the shades could not be replaced until September, after we have left.
When we arrived there was a large tear in the screen door to the deck. It has since been repaired but should not have been there if the unit had been inspected before our arrival.
Wall-to-wall carpet has lots of stain spots in every room especially in the living room. It needs to be steam cleaned.
Area rug on top of carpet in living room has been stretched so has permanent folds that are hazardous.
A built-in refrigerator/freezer was replaced by a non-built-in so there is empty space around it which looks very ugly and collects dirt that is impossible to remove.
Ice and water dispenser on refrigerator not connected.
Paint on woodwork and walls has been chipped in many places.
Hot tub in complex has not been functional since we’ve been here.
No instructions for using TV and streaming services; not obvious to one used to cable TV.
No remote for TV in second bedroom
No key for garage.
No card for gate entry.
Some windows and sliding doors to deck have not been cleaned - there are fingerprints on inside.
Electrical outlet on deck not functioning.
Many towels are old and frayed.
No cleaning service provided so have extra expense to get cleaning supplies.
No discount for a multi-week stay despite the owner/agent saving on cleaning service and supplies.
Because of these problems we are requesting a $2,500 refund.
