My friends and I loved the place

  • 5 of 5

I live in Tahoe and I rented this house because I could not accommodate my friends in my small studio. My friends loved it. The house was very clean. The scenery was very beautiful and very peaceful. We spent several hours at the river in the back yard. There is a very nice swimming hole to relax if you can handle the cold water. If I would of stayed here in May, I would of had a friend drive us up the road and we would of floated down back to the house. There is plenty room in the back yard to play outdoor games, we played a lot of corn hole. We made good use of the hot tube. If your looking for peace and quiet and beautiful setting this place is for you.

Unique property. Something for everyone, and every season!

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location….within 2-30 miles of the cabin, there are Tahoe’s best hiking trails, fishing, ski resorts, beaches, stores, restaurants, and casinos. You wouldn’t know you are in a residential area after parking your car. It’s very quiet!

As noted by other reviewers the house was spotless, reflecting the pride of the owners. It was equipped with all the noted items and amenities.. The pictures did not do fully reflect the beauty of the setting and home.

The UNIQUE and highlight of this cabin was the short walk through a well maintained pathway to the private, peacefully quiet, river front. A great place to have a picnic, go swimming, read a book, or spend the night. It was very serene: the only sounds came from nature— the river, birds singing, etc. You’d have to look hard to see other homes. The area had a good view of the night sky, which was brilliant with no city light interference. All this was within a 2-3 minute walk from the cabin itself.

The added bonus to all this are the owners, who are available if you need anything, yet provide full privacy for your stay. They are the kindest, thoughtful folks who have lived in the area for decades. They have a wealth of knowledge and can help you plan/direct any outing that you want. They quietly attend to little things (ie. when they heard my son was interested in sleeping in the enclosed cabin by the river—they immediately went out, took off the winterized window frame and re-screened the windows so that he would have a cross breeze). This is an underused gem of the site. Another example, was that our stay occured during height of pine pollen season. Our cars were covered in yellow pollen. On the day we were leaving, David, the owner hosed down our cars to provide a safe journey home. I can’t promise that he’d clean every car, but I am positive that they would provide great, old fashioned customer service and random acts of kindness to make your stay comfortable and memorable!

After 30 years of going to Tahoe, we have found a home away from home. We’re already planning our next trip. A week is just not enough time in this home!

Beautiful property on the river.

  • 5 of 5

The location was great for our two families. The house sat on a huge plot of land leading right up to the river. The kids built forts, we had a bonfire with s'mores, and even borrowed fishing poles to go fishing in a local river. The owner was so nice and helpful in local plans. The house was clean and well appointed - especially in the kitchen. We would definitely return!

great place. Its our 3rd visit here and we love it

  • 5 of 5

The house is well furnished and meticulously maintained. David, the owner, lives next door which is very convenient if any need arises. He and his wife are always kind and helpful yet keeping to themselves. We love the river flowing through the back yard, and the setup in general. Its a spacious house on a quite street, short drive to town (South lake Tahoe) and the beautiful Lake Tahoe area surroundings right outside.

We were lucky with great weather and clear views which made for fantastic hiking with our dogs. This was our 3rd visit to the Riverfront House and it definitely wont be the last. We recommend this place wholeheartedly.

Great Winter Vacation Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the location, secluded and plenty of privacy. Very dog friendly. We had 5 total guests, Wife, 13 year old son and my parents. Kitchen is spacious, very well supplied and open to entertaining. Dave, the owner, gave us a complete walkthrough and explained all the accommodations, which came in very handy as the house has a lot of upgrades and special features (steam showers, hot tub etc.). He also made an emergency visit when we found the kitchen faucet spray nozzle was broken, he had it fixed in 2 minutes. He knew all the great local locations for my sons winterentertainment. The house has two sets of bunk beds, which my son loved. House had great TV reception, and Dave keeps the walkways shoveled and safe for all, in case you want to explore the vast scenery.

We really enjoyed the location, the size of the house, and the large amount of property. We will definitely stay here again. Dave also was able to provide us early check-in and called us up the night before we left and offered us late check-out also, at no charge. He also offered to help me load a heavy ice chest. Great hospitality. He and his wife do live right next door to the house, but they were rarely seen and added to the experience rather than detract. We enjoyed visiting with them, and can tell they are dog lovers and made our Beagle and Jack Russell feel welcome.

Looking forward to spending another visit here, maybe in the Summer when we can take a trip on his charter boat! Thank you Leal's for a great visit and for your hospitality.
