Sunrise Surprise - Cottonwood Properties

The hottest spot on the lake! Enjoy all Lake Lure has to offer with direct lake access from the private dock. Kayaks and a canoe are provided for your enjoyment and a gas firepit on the dock! Relax after a day on the water on the fully screened porch and rinse off in the new outdoor shower. High speed Internet, fully equipped kitchen with an open floor plan to dining and living room. On the main level, you'll find 3 bedrooms. Two bedrooms with queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. There is one full bathroom and a half bath that have been recently remodeled. Parking for up to 5 cars, 3 by the house, and also lower level parking closer to the boathouse. There is space to enjoy dining al fresco on the lower patio. There are quite a few stairs to get from the house to the boathouse. Located 15 minutes to the public beach access, restaurants, and grocery store. Only minutes away from Rumbling Bald Resort and 20-25 minutes from the Lake Lure Beach, Lake Lure Marina, and downtown Lake Lure .Chimney Rock State Park is 35 minutes away with hiking trails, rock climbing, an “animal discovery den,” and must-try deli and café.

This home is Pet Friendly, should you choose to bring a pet there will be a $75 pet fee added to your reservation, with $50 for each additional pet, maximum of 3. We advertise on multiple platforms and sometimes our pet fee does not populate in your reservation. If you decide to bring a pet, please notify the host, we will add the pet fee(s) to your reservation. Failure to notify us of the pet will result in a $250 penalty.

RENTER BEWARE: Dirty, Broken and Unkempt Property

Today is the last day I can leave a review on this property. We have been trying to resolve these issues with the property manager for over 2 weeks. We were looking forward to this lake vacation. We saved up & splurged on a nice property. The lake & view were beautiful but, that was the only good part of this experience. The photos & listing makes this look like a high end property, but there is nothing luxurious about this place. It is dirty, cluttered & unkempt...with very tiny bathrooms. We contacted the property management company THREE during our stay & did not receive the response we were promised. Here are some the issues we experienced. LACK OF CLEANLINESS: human & animal hair on sheets, musty towels & pet fur in blankets (had to wash all of the above) dead bugs, fur & dust on windowsills, carpet full of pet hair, large cobwebs & dust on ceiling, many very expired food items in kitchen, furniture on lower porch completely unusable due to dirt & cobwebs, boathouse is cluttered & filled with trash MISSING ITEMS: 2 of 3 TVs do not have cable or streaming device, no extra set of sheets, empty propane tank & no replacement BROKEN FURNITURE: broken chaise & adirondack chair, dressers missing knobs, broken dresser mirror We would have been totally fine if the only drawback of this property was the size. Unfortunately, the lack of response, lack of cleanliness & broken/missing items made this an extremely disappointing experience.

Just the getaway we needed!

We booked this property as a last minute getaway during spring break and it was a fantastic experience. The home was easy to access and everything was as described. The view was fantastic. Lake levels were 9+ feet below normal this time of year we booked, but this property is located where accessing the water from the property was not an issue. Our most enjoyed activities from the week were kayaking, fishing, hiking. (If you like to hike, an easy drive to Saluda (30-40 min) to Little Bradley Falls is a win, it is a 2mi round trip hike with a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole tucked in the hills, easy enough for kids). Overall a great stay!

Beautiful View

The view from this house is amazing! The kitchen is pretty well stocked and the outside space is nice. A few things to note, the bathroom is very small, even smaller than we imagined from the other reviews. To us it seemed like fine for a couple of adults and children, but I can’t imagine sharing this space with other adults. The stairs to the lake are steep, and you do need to be careful. The neighborhood is quiet and was nice. We did make some suggestions for some additional cleaning and fixes that would be really helpful to the house. All in all it is nice, but I have paid less and had a better experience.
