About this property

Cozy Mountain Cabin

Mountain log cabin getaway. (Pets welcome at no extra charge.) Great mountain, valley, wildlife, long range and sunset views from your private 50 foot deck. WiFi, satellite TV, movie theater with surround sound, 100" screen, HD projector, DVD player & 500 DVDs, books, board games, air hockey, darts, wildlife telescope, firepit, chiminea, & charcoal grills. Centrally located to fishing, hiking, biking, golf & disc golf, lakes & waterfalls, skiing, gem mining, & Blue Ridge Pkwy entrance. This is a log cabin on the side of a mountain with rock landscaping and firepit overlook seating area. The inside is designed in a unique artistic rustic Scandanavian style. It has many interesting things to see and do within the living space. You may contact the property manager anytime for any reason. We are eager to hear your feedback and help with anything that we can. Cozy Mountain Cabin is in a rural, gated mountain nature setting at a comfortable 2000 foot altitude...surrounded by national forest. We call it "conveniently secluded". A general store, Linville Falls Winery, disc golf, creeks, waterfalls, caves, gem mining, hiking trails, restaurants, and Blue Ridge Parkway entrance are about 10 mins away. This is a rural gated community. Home is about 2 miles from the gate with both paved and gravel roads. Parking for 2 vehicles. Towed trailers not recommended. 4 or all wheel drive is recommended but regular cars are fine also. Sometimes during winter the roads may not be passable due to ice and snow. This happens on occasion and is usually just a few days. Although we do have continuous WiFi, it is a somewhat weaker signal due to the mountain location and is occasionally spotty with weather conditions like rain or snow. You should be able to use the internet for email and texting and WiFi calling but streaming may prove difficult. We provide a short term supply of toiletries. Owners live on the lower level and do not share any space with the rental. The rental space is private. There is room for a fifth person if you want to use our air mattress. There is also a small couch that can accommodate a child.

Everything is nice BUT....
I will say the location, scenery and use of the amenities this place offers is great. My one huge downside is upon arrival we met the owner. He is super nice however he talked for over 45 minutes and it seemed it would never stop. We made it known were trying to get settled in and out the door for an afternoon hike but it seemed no direct hint was taken. He also lives on property(which is in the description/reviews), however he lives directly underneath and you can hear the slightest of conversations. This may not bother some people but I like to escape chatter of my everyday world and to me the purpose of getting away in the mountains is to have some peace, quiet and anonymity. It felt as if I constantly had someone who could hear every move I made. It was a little unsettling. However, if you are cool with this and this is your thing then it would be perfect for your stay. The theater was a nice touch for late night relaxing.

Great Cabin!
House is exactly as described. The views were incredible, property manager was extremely responsive. I did overlook that the owners live in the lower section of the home so we were a little surprised when we heard talking one night but that was my fault. Very clean home and well equipped.

Lovely fall visit
We rented this home for a week of exploring and visiting friends in the area. It was a wonderful stay - very comfortable and perfect for 3 adults. Beautiful views of fall in the mountains off the back deck and a great location for activities in Asheville, Morganton and the Linville Gorge. The house is well outfitted for a comfortable stay and the owner is available and very responsive to questions and inquiries. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!

Our Stay
Overall best stay. We really enjoyed the mountain views and the location. It was secluded away from everything. Met the property owner who was very nice. Got to see a bear which was very exciting. The house was spotless with great history and photos throughout. Enjoyed the theater room with great theater experience. Overall we will be staying again. 👍👍
