About this property

6 - Mackinac Cabin, Les Cheneaux Islands, Cedarville, MI,

Mackinac Cabin is located at the top of our side-walk with a convenient parking spot right off Park Avenue. The cabin is set back off the water, but it is just a quick walk down the side-walk and across the yard to the docks and swimming area.

Mackinac Cabin has a large kitchen/dining/living area, 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath with combination tub/shower.  It's one of the larger 2 bedroom cabins and is close to the action, but pushed back for some quiet privacy.
The cabin received many new updates this spring (2023):  New kitchen cabinets, countertop, sink, glass top electric range and new vinyl flooring throughout.  Both bedrooms have also been updated with a queen size bed in one bedroom and a new full size bed in the second bedroom. The living room has a full size futon couch and new, colorful braided rugs have been added to brighten up the interior.
This cabin has all the amenities you will need to be comfortable during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, glassware, utensils and silverware. Bed linens and pillows are furnished as well. We do ask our guests to provide their own bath and kitchen linens, however, if this is inconvenient, please let us know.
All cabin renters have access to Les Cheneaux Landing Resort's 250 feet of waterfront, sandy swimming beach, docks, basketball court, horseshoes and sand beach volleyball court.

A beautiful new dock was installed spring of 2020 and can accommodate most any size boat; so bring your boat and cruise the islands.
We also have fishing boats and motors, available for rent by the day or week.
All cabins at Les Cheneaux Landing come with a picnic table and charcoal, kettle style, grill. So, fire up the grill and barbeque your favorite recipe, gather at your private picnic table, or walk across the street to Snows Bar & Grill for their fish fry or famous 'Snows Burger.'  This charming and comfortable cabin sits on the most desirable waters of the Les Cheneaux Islands ~ Snows Channel.
Some of our cabins are named after nearby or well known area islands. Mackinac Island, the most famous island, is a great day trip while staying at Les Cheneaux Landing. It's about 35 miles to St Ignace, where you can catch a ferry to the island and enjoy shopping at the quaint shops, sample all the delicious fudge flavors, take a carriage ride or bike around the island. Mackinac Island is a shortened version of the Native American name, Michilimackinac. The Anishinaabek people named this area and Mackinac Island Michilimackinac, meaning place of the great turtle.  Whether it is spelled Mackinaw as in Mackinaw City or Mackinac as in Mackinac Island, they are pronounced the same way: Mack-i-naw.

Mackinac Cabin is one of eleven cabins at Les Cheneaux Landing Resort, 1158 S Park Ave, Cedarville, MI 49719.
Welcome to Mackinac Cabin!

Laid back on Snows Channel
The cabin is comfy, the decor is simple and colorful. The beach shoreline and dock are maintained well, and the view is lovely. It is a friendly and plesant place to stay.

Kitschy cabin near Cedarville
The cabin is located within the Les Cheneaux Landing resort, a mile or two outside of Cedarville, on a quiet road with several other cabins very close by. It was rustic but clean with nice quality kitchen supplies (pots/ pans/ dishes) and bedding. Many items (stove, sink, heating system) were quite old but worked great, no problems. However, the mattresses in both bedrooms were also old and had practically no padding to cover the springs anymore. We were quite uncomfortable sleeping. Memory foam toppers would help immensely! The host was prompt and pleasant when we messaged with questions prior to our stay and personally greeted us and gave us a tour on arrival, but she did not reach out to provide us with any check-in instructions-- we had to message to get the address, did not know what time check-in was, and were only told upon arrival that renters were supposed to bring their own towels. Thankfully we had brought some! Perhaps this lack of communication was an oversight and others will not have this problem. Overall our stay was fine-- we enjoyed Cedarville, and the little cabin was sufficient to meet our needs.
