Taste of Home in the midst of nature
Gorgeous cabin with all the right amenities! Susan is a wonderful host and even provided us with fresh eggs and plenty of tips of places to check out nearby. The stars at night here are breathtaking! Mornings and afternoons are filled with the sounds of the nearby river, birds, and wildlife scurrying about. My husband and I are already trying to figure out when we will be able to come back and stay even longer. Definitely recommend staying here!

Cute, Cozy and Clean
My sister and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Cabin on the river. Susan was a wonderful host, very friendly, helpful and great to converse with. The cabin was clean and cute with all the matching linens and eclectic decor. The coffee bar was a welcome treat, as we love our coffee and it was nice to come in to a hot beverage after being out exploring or sitting around the campfire. The property was serene, located right on the river with plenty of trees and wildlife- we even saw two bald eagles flying over the river- must be nest nearby. Overall, we had a great time and felt right at home. Thank you for everything, Susan!

I enjoy people, social gatherings, working outdoors, building furniture, live music, art shows, pot lucks, home made desserts, gathering around campfires, and I love animals, outdoor adventure and wildlife. I relocated here Oct 2020 with my 12 pet chickens, kitkats & pup, pursuing my dream to combine all these things into a campground starting with cabin rentals on one side of the property, and working toward building a small campground on the other side of our ravine/creek, with goals to some day (2023? 2024?) host art shows, small live music events, cook-offs, outdoor movie nights, DIY classes, celebration gatherings, hiking & bicycling event gatherings (Red Bud Ride & Sheltowee Trace hike starts up the road!), and I'd love to host large-scale art installations such as the amazing metal and light sculptures seen at Burning Man. We went through a historic flood in 2021 so that was a set back (time consuming, mud clean up, rebuilding, restoring, $draining), so time was lost but we're back on track :) We've started building 4 additional small cabins on our higher ground, and a central shower/bathroom house (on the opposite side of the ravine from the rental cabins) to enable us to some day have such gatherings. The rental cabins will still have their own grassy areas & river view or mountain/grass & trees views.

Why they chose this property

I went on two 30-day land-hunt road trips in several states. I fell in love with this property because it's nestled within a national forest down a paved tree-lined road and right above a river! Yet our campground is very conveniently located just a few miles off interstate 75 freeway, centrally located within northern & southern states, tons of outdoor adventure, hiking, off-road trails, lakes, marinas. London & Corbin KY are nearby for shopping, movies, restaurants, cocktails. Renfro Valley Music Museum & concert pavilion, Berea art museums, numerous beautiful waterfall hikes, Levi Jackson Tree Top & Zipline adventure. We're on private land, private river front, within a national forest, on rolling grassy lawn. I live on the opposite side of the property in a house on 14ft stilts above the river. On this side of the property I have 3 pet donkeys, and sometimes host mini horse and other pasture pets for traveling nurse friends. Once your booking is confirmed, you'll have my contact info.

Feel free to reach out any time with as many questions you may have!
