Lovely apartment but host communication was awful!

I’ve given this apartment pretty much the top score for the place itself. It was beautiful, clean and tidy & in a good location. Everything we needed was there. The overall review isn’t so good coz of the communication. If they want advice from not just me, but it seems someone else who stayed recently, they MUST communicate better! I should’ve sensed it wasn’t going to be good from the start. All other hosts I deal with tend to send you a polite ‘thanks for booking etc message, when you book. No such message arrived. I actually booked another property first & booked it some time ago. Then only a few weeks before the trip, the host cancelled that property with no reason/message/apology! I messaged to ask why & got no response. I then found another place, booked that quickly, & only a few hours later, realised it was the SAME host as the first booking. I messaged them to explain & again asked about the cancellation. I received no response. I tried again a week or so before the trip… still no reply. Finally, a couple of days before the trip, I messaged again to ask about check-in. With no reply, I contacted Vrbo customer support & within minutes, the host replied saying I will receive check in details on the morning of the trip. On the morning, no message came, I tried to contact the host but nothing, so called Vrbo again. Finally, at 4pm, whilst in Bath, hanging around waiting & almost an hour after the check-in time, the host messaged me the details. Just awful!!!

Great apartment but unreliable host

We enjoyed staying at the apartment, it was in a great location, well appointed and very clean. We can only say positives things with regards to the actual accommodation, however we found the experience extremely stressful when it came to communicating with our host. We were sent a link with information on how to access the property the day before, however the host had not added these details to the website. We then attempted to call and message the host for 2 days but were unable to reach him with his phone turned off the entire time. No response to text messages. We were already travelling to the city with no understanding of whether we will be able to stay at the accommodation. VRBO were useless in solving the problem or contacting the host and offered to cancel the accommodation which basically would have left us homeless. We ended up booking another accommodation in a hotel. The host did eventually send through the access information but not before we had already made the other booking and paid for a hotel room. Simple lack of timely communication caused a lot of anxiety and stress on what was meant to be a relaxing trip. It is simply unacceptable and for this reason we would not recommend this place.

Fantastic spot in bath

Stayed with my husband and another couple and absolutely loved the place! Clean, cozy and spacious with everything just a short walk away. Parking is about a 10 minute walk but understandable in downtown bath. Only thing to keep in mind is that for anyone with mobility issues there are a lot of stairs to carry luggage up and you’re at the top of a hill- wasn’t a problem for us but may be for others. Highly recommend!

Great location

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay in this charming top floor flat. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds/bedding were comfortable and a high quality. We did feel that the kitchen could have been better equipped and cooking essentials, milk, oil etc. would have been appreciated. There was some general lack of attention to detail in some areas, for example, the armchair had a broken leg and needed replacing, as well as the kitchen bin that had broken pedals and no bin liner in it. The bathroom was pleasant but it could have been cleaner and the tiles were a bit tired. We also thought that for a flat that sleeps 4 people, there was a lack of comfortable seating in the living room. Especially as the armchair was broken, two of us ended up sitting on the floor or in the dining chairs. Amazing location though and a lovely view of the rooftops out of the front windows.
