Lovely apartment but host communication was awful!
I’ve given this apartment pretty much the top score for the place itself. It was beautiful, clean and tidy & in a good location. Everything we needed was there. The overall review isn’t so good coz of the communication. If they want advice from not just me, but it seems someone else who stayed recently, they MUST communicate better! I should’ve sensed it wasn’t going to be good from the start. All other hosts I deal with tend to send you a polite ‘thanks for booking etc message, when you book. No such message arrived. I actually booked another property first & booked it some time ago. Then only a few weeks before the trip, the host cancelled that property with no reason/message/apology! I messaged to ask why & got no response. I then found another place, booked that quickly, & only a few hours later, realised it was the SAME host as the first booking. I messaged them to explain & again asked about the cancellation. I received no response. I tried again a week or so before the trip… still no reply. Finally, a couple of days before the trip, I messaged again to ask about check-in. With no reply, I contacted Vrbo customer support & within minutes, the host replied saying I will receive check in details on the morning of the trip. On the morning, no message came, I tried to contact the host but nothing, so called Vrbo again. Finally, at 4pm, whilst in Bath, hanging around waiting & almost an hour after the check-in time, the host messaged me the details. Just awful!!!
