Located in Tampa's West Riverfront neighborhood, a vibrant area populated with young professionals, University of Tampa faculty, families and diverse long time residents, this home is an easy walk to Downtown Tampa's premier riverfront parks , attractions, restaurants, pubs & the Tampa Riverwalk. A long established neighborhood adjacent to Downtown Tampa and just north of the Historic Hyde Park District, it boasts a mix of single family homes, condos, apartments, restaurants and light commercial offices; as well as drop-in, friendly drinking establishments and nearby breweries. The West Riverfront neighborhood has reached “critical mass” as the place to work, live and play. As such, new residential homes are being constructed, which may occasionally result in light construction noise.

The neighborhood has a very high "walk-able" and biking index as most errands can be accomplished on foot, with an abundance of sights and fun activities also within easy walking and biking range. Live like a local at some of our favorite nearby local places and activities including:

Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park - Tampa’s newest large riverfront park features picnic pavilions, a children’s water park, public tennis courts, dragon boat river center, open-air table tennis, chess, bocce ball, wide open green spaces, and is an ideal location for quality family time. Its tree and bench lined riverfront affords magnificent daytime cityscape views of the Downtown Tampa skyline and the Riverwalk, as well as colorful nightscapes providing the perfect backdrop for romance or quiet introspection. Our favorite piece of public art in the park is The Form of Wonder (a.k.a The Canopy) by artist Marc Fornes. From Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, it is only a 5-10 minute walk across the Hillsborough River to the Tampa Riverwalk and downtown attractions. Browse for treasures at Schiller's Architectural and Design Salvage on the walk to the park.

Downtown Tampa - The Tampa Riverwalk is the city’s premiere riverfront entertainment attraction; connecting the Tampa Heights/Armature Works (a converted former electric trolley maintenance center) on the northern edge of Downtown Tampa with the Water Street/Channelside District southeast of downtown terminating at The Florida Aquarium. This 12' wide, 2.6 mile pedestrian and family friendly promenade highlights the best of Downtown Tampa around every turn, including:

Tampa Sail House
We highly recommend this well-kept home that is so convenient to the downtown area and the University of Tampa. The beautiful river-walk is easily accessible. The home is very clean with comfortable beds and the kitchen is also well equipped. It has a great outdoor space to enjoy and also has full-sized washer and dryers. Outdoor lighting and security cameras provided a real sense of security. Communication with the owner was excellent. Be mindful the home has one bathroom so something to consider with more guests but was no problem for us. Give this home a try; you'll be glad you did!

Great house and host!
We had a great stay at Rick's property. The house itself is incredibly well-stocked, clean, and comfortable. It is close to downtown, Hyde Park, and the highway, so the location for us was great. Rick was also amazing– incredibly responsive and helpful with anything we needed, including good Tampa recommendations. Highly recommend for a short- or long-term stay in Tampa!

Hidden Gem in Tampa
We enjoyed our stay at this well appointed home. It had everything we needed and more. It was very clean and very comfortable. I could not have asked for anything more. The host is incredibly gracious, and very accommodating. I felt secure in knowing that they were a quick call away if I needed anything at all. The host checked in with me before I got there to make sure I was all set. This was the best VRBO experience I have had and I have stayed at many homes.

As a Vrbo Premier Superhost owner, I've traveled and lived overseas extensively, I consider myself a Tampa "native" since 1997. I love how Tampa Bay has grown into the jewel that it is today. In addition to the Gulf of Mexico beaches, theme parks and magnificent weather, it offers abundant outdoor activities and entertainment with premier world-class venues, museums, and restaurants; all within a 5-30 minute drive from your centrally located vacation home. Cheri and I hope to see you soon and look forward to providing you and your family/friends the best stay possible. Your sub-tropical Paradise awaits you.

Why they chose this property

I chose to completely renovate this property as I have an affinity for restoring mid-century modern houses to their former glory (but with updated electrical/plumbing infrastructure to make them truly modern.) Also, its location in the West Riverfront neighborhood adjacent to Downtown Tampa and the new Tampa Riverwalk makes it centrally located and walkable to a great many activities (but still located in a quiet neighborhood.). The high desirability of upscale homes in the West Riverfront Neighborhood is evident through continuous renovations and new house construction throughout the neighborhood. As such, guests may experience some construction related noise during the workday.

What makes this property unique

Centrally located in the West Riverfront neighborhood places you in walking, biking, and short car ride/Uber range of the Tampa Riverwalk, multiple family friendly parks, outdoor concerts, dozens of casual and fine dining restaurants and pubs, etc. Your biggest decision will be whether to walk or rent a bike to explore the area. Also, quick interstate access to Gulf of Mexico beaches to the west; Busch Gardens Theme Park, ZooTampa and Raymond James Stadium to the north; a straight shot to the Orlando theme parks to the east; or Sarasota to the south ensure that you'll never run out of fun things to do.
