Beach Front Basic
This is review is not intended to be negative, but just an honest appraisal of the Sea Yawl rental property. Renters should be aware that this is a true rental for profit property, managed solely by a corporate company. "Extra" amenities are few and basic. For example, the towels are small, thin, and few. There are no real comforters or blankets on the beds, only thin coverlets which do not provide much warmth. We also had to make the beds when we arrived. When they say "starter supplies," the property management company means it (1 trash bag, no more). The property does not promise extras, but unlike other rentals, you will not find any beach chairs, beach toys, beach towels, or other nice "extras" that just happen to be around the property or that remain from previous rentals. Dishes are sparse; there is not any Tupperware or plastic baggies. The outside has minimal landscape and no chairs on the lower level to relax in. On one side is a vacant lot and on the other is what appears to be an abandoned home with a broken out window. One aspect that was disappointing was you could not open the porch windows and listen to the ocean. Unless you open the door, there is no way to listen to the ocean without letting in bugs. The windows were rusted and not operational. The cottage as a whole is very shabby chic. Now, as to the great aspects, Sea Yawl is right behind the Publix and steps to the beach. We loved being so close to the ocean and of course, it allowed us to bring our very small fur babies. As mentioned in other reviews, all the bathrooms are located on one side of the cottage, so 2 of the bedrooms have to cross the family/main room to use the bathrooms.
