Charming & Historical 1 Room Log Cabin / Forest Views/ 20 minutes from Flagstaff

Property Details

Updated: Oct 21, 2016
1 room, queen bed. Perfect for 2.

Roger's Cabin is clean and quiet, sitting on the edge of the Kaibab National Forest.

This little log cabin is about as close to a true Arizona adventure as you can get. Just like 'back in the day,' there isn't a TV. You won't have time for it. There is too much to see and do.

If you like quiet, nature, maybe evening elk grazing through, you will LOVE this place. Although it's not really a 'place', it's an Arizona experience.

The main exit to the Grand Canyon is 13 miles down the freeway. Sedona is about an hour's drive. The Grand Canyon is to the west, Sedona to the south/east and Flagstaff to the direct east. This little cabin is also very centrally located for Jerome, Flagstaff & Williams.

Fishing spots are nearby along with Area 7 west for hunting.

Roger's Cabin has a maximum occupancy rate of two people. Any requests for four wheelers, trailers, RV"S, or pitched tents must be discussed and approved by the Property Manager. Extra fees may apply.

This is a No-Smoking Cabin

Pets are considered.

You won't be disappointed by cabin or the location

This cabin is professionally managed by Kathy Duncan at Front Door Realty & Property Management Professionals.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We have wanted to stay in a log cagin in the woods for a long time, this little cabin is perfect and just what we expected. Warm & cozy, very comfy queen bed and we LOVED the quiet star lit nights.

Just an excellent western experience. We also loved the Pine Country cafe in Williams.

Like Cats???? Stay Here!!

  • 2 of 5

Kathy, the Property Manager is very professional and efficient. However, I feel she needs to go to Rogers Cabin and inspect the darling, sweet, charming cabin. What she will find is that it is NOT clean! Examples: The bed comforter is full of cat dander/fur; the red microwave is dirty (grease smears on outside); the door/handle and top of the small fridge has food stains on it; the "cowhide" rug by the sink is filthy; the BBQ tools have not been washed; and overall, this sweet l, historic cabin needs a thorough cleaning❗️

My partner suffered an asthma attack the first night's stay (fortunately he brought his inhaler). I am highly allergic to cats and am still recovering from an allergic reaction to the cat dander and fur that was everywhere inside the cabin.

The cabin is quiet, sweet and precious. Just PLEASE get a cleaning crew that knows how to clean the cabin, do a thorough cleaning and then inspect it!

We enjoyed the North Rim of The Grand is a once in a lifetime experience. We would suggest staying in the cabins at he North Rim...they are only $40 more than Rogers Cabin and clean.

Owner's Response: Hello Cowgirl, Thank you very much for your review. I always appreciate feedback as it allows me to improve the experience of future Guests. I am so sorry that your stay at this lovely cabin was not as enjoyable as it should have been. I wish I would have known that there was an issue before reading this review online as I would have gladly had the cabin re-cleaned or I may have been able to move you to another cabin on the property. Please know that your feedback will not be discounted. I have spoken with the cleaner who serviced the cabin prior to your stay. She is someone who is a trusted employee and usually does great work. For some reason, that was not the case on this particular day. She is extremely apologetic and has offered to forfeit her cleaning fee, which I will forward to you. I know from speaking with Guests on a daily basis and from reading all of the reviews that come in for Roger's Cabin and for all of the homes that I manage, that this is a very isolated instance. Once again, thank you. Your feedback is valued and appreciated. My very best wishes to you and yours. Kathy Duncan Property Manager

Compaq getaway

Just what we were looking for. A very cute simple cabin. It's not as remote as we expected but it is tucked back on the property and you're really do feel by yourself. my wife and I just needed a place that was we could spend time together and relax, read and talk and that's exactly what we got

There's a small general store cafe just around the corner in easy walking distance with extremely good food

Lovely area and cozy, well-appointed cabin

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at this cute log cabin. Enjoyed hiking through the woods just beyond the fence.

The one thing that surprised us is that it wasn't as secluded as the map indicated and we were next door to other homes and near a highway. Honestly, though, that wasn't a problem. It was very quiet and we were actually happy with the location.

Perfect private getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stopped at this location for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon tour of the US. The location was perfect and gave us all the privacy we were looking for. Will absolutely be looking to stay again in the future with the owners being a lovely couple who invited us into their home for dinner one evening. Couldn't recommend this property enough.

Absolutely perfect. This place is all you will need when trying to get away for a few days. Slightly off the beaten path but just an amazing location. Stay here, it will be one of the best decisions you make for just getting away from it all!

This rustic 95 yr. old cabin provides a relaxing atmosphere.

It;s fairly close to the Grand Canyon, hiking, a lava tube, historic downtown Williams, Flagstaff & Bearizona. Within walking distance is the historic Parks in the Pines store & Deli. & an original section of old Rte. 66 If you want do visit Sedona you would love the drive from here and down through Oak Creek Canyon as it is centrally located for this part of Arizona.

Whether you sit around the fire in the summer, play in the snow in the winter or need a warm place to relax at the end of a hunt, this cozy little cabin is an inviting place to kick off your boots and hang your hat.

You can see the log walls were hand cut with an axe for the door and windows. There are old dates carved in the logs and painted over. At one time there were six or seven of these little 'efficiency' cabins, outhouses, and one public shower. All of the cabins have been taken down except two. Dubbed after a very good friend, Roger B., who rented it for several years, this little one room cabin has it's own 3/4 bathroom and small kitchen area. On site is a charcoal BBQ & fire ring. The queen bed has a memory foam topper along with all the linens.

It sits right next to the forest line fence, so quiet evenings are often enhanced with the passing of a herd of elk as they graze along moving to the water hole on the other side of Old 66.

"Roger's Cabin" is rustic, efficient and REAL. It's a piece of American history that is not a place, it's an experience that time left behind.

  • This cabin is not set up for long-term rental. There are seasons when outdoor fire is not permitted by the forest service. It will be posted. There are plates, cups, dinnerware etc. Also, there is a slow cooker. Plenty of parking in front of the cabin, you just might want to watch for the sap from the trees. The shade is nice, but . . .
