About this property

Miami's Historic Moorish Cottage

Your journey to the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale region begins here at the Curtiss Cottage, named in honor of famed aviator and founder of three Miami suburbs, Glenn Curtiss.

Just 20-30 short minutes from world-class offerings, this efficiency-sized space is perfect for those seeking close proximity to the sights, while being far enough to have peace and quiet (and easy parking!)

We take extra care to ensure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. With unique decor and sizeable and inviting outdoor space, the Curtiss Cottage is a traveler's haven. This space is attached to a historic registered 1930 home but has its own private entrance and access to a beautifully decorated courtyard with a table and chairs (and some additional fun finds).

In addition to a semi-full kitchen with a mini-fridge, cooking utensils, a double hot plate, and a microwave, you will also have:

- Bath and beach towels
- Organic, non-cruelty shampoo and conditioner from WholeFoods
- Coffee and tea (grinder included with drip coffee machine and pour over)
- Bug spray, umbrella, and some workout equipment
- HBO Max and Netflix are available

Five Star
Outstanding presentation of the gardens to the relaxing arch way area, very well decorated, Curtiss Cottage has everything you need. From spices to fragrant soaps, everything met our liking. Very tidy, we felt like we walked into our own home. If we reached for “it” all needs were met for comfort and safety. We will be back next vacation. Thank you to Alex and Darwin

Fantastic Spot
The hosts are great and are involved in a movement of historical preservation in the area. Their spot is even nicer than the photos. Cute, charming, private and comfortable. Lots of nice little touches.

Why they chose this property

Built in 1930, The Dove House is one of the few remaining architectural gems of a community in Miami-Dade county founded in 1926 and built as inspiration from the 1924 Douglas Fairbanks film "The Thief of Bagdad," as well as the Arabian Nights novels.

This Moroccan/Arabian Nights-inspired offering pays homage to the city of Opa-locka's founder, famed aviator Glenn Curtiss, and architect Bernhardt E. Muller who built the home and surrounding homes and city structures.

What makes this property unique

The Homeowners take great pride in the landscaping and appearance of the home, with ongoing efforts being made to restore the structure.

Additionally, guests will enjoy high-quality products, such as organic, non-cruelty shampoo & conditioner, as well as coffee and tea.
