Worst short term rental yet
I've rented 26 homes in three years since I started using short term rentals. This is the worst I've ever had.
Starting with check-in. NOT mentioned in the ad is the fact that you have to download a separate app to open the doors. This is a full-on registration...email/phone/etc. Shouldn't be needed and now I'm already getting fresh new spam! Yay!
House rules: Don't use laundry room, it's unsafe. Oh but if you need to clean something, go ahead and use the laundry!
OK, now the house. I WISH I could post pictures. I will send them to VRBO as a complaint. But here's my list:
Whole house was musty, smelled of dog.
Kitchen counter tile has MOST of the grout missing...can't be cleaned and its disgusting!
Toaster in cupboard FILTHLY! Greasy front, I wouldn't even take it out of the cupboard.
Kitchen drawers FILTHY and full of junk.
Stove top dirty.
Refrigerator dirty and broken in multiple places.
Living room furniture a joke: Couch 2/3 normal size, "sofa bed actually a rock-hard ultra-cheap Walmart futon, and a HAMOCK! (No I'm not kidding!)_
All closets FULL of junk/cluttered/YUCK.
Holes in wall and baseboard.
Paint in horrible condition EVERYWHERE!
Floors in two places were in total disrepair. Tiles shifted/unstuck and unsanitary.
Shower soap dispenser NASTY!
Both beds small and uncomfortable. Cheap thin Ikea type mattresses and frames.
Finally, "smart" thermostat reset to 78 during the night, upstairs was STEAMING HOT! Both nights.
