About this property

This cozy cottage right on the edge of the lake is the perfect spot to unwind. Enjoy relaxing, kayaking, and swimming from your own dock. Comfortably furnished spaces with two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, breezy screened-in porch with a beautiful view, and living/dining room with a cozy fire for chilly evenings. A few minutes from the towns of Damariscotta and Round Pond, with charming shops and restaurants. Easy access beaches, lighthouses, and coastal nature preserves.

This lakeside cottage is on McCurdy Pond: a 200 acre, pristine mile long fresh water lake that sits at the top of the Pemaquid watershed. The cottage is right at the edge of the water with a breathtaking view that you can enjoy from the large screened in porch or the dock. The lake is a great spot to see a variety of birds- from loons to bald eagles.

There are two bedrooms with comfortable full sized beds. One of the bedrooms features a stunning lake view through sliding glass doors that lead out to the waterfront.

Enjoy your breakfast with a lake view at the dining table on the screened-in porch, or cozy up next to the fire in the living room on chilly evenings. The cottage is insulated and heated for year-round comfort and enjoyment.

For a low-key night in, choose from a large selection of shows and movies on the TV with provided Netflix. The fiber internet provides fast WiFi for video calls if you need to stay connected while away.

Go for a paddle on the lake in the provided kayaks to make this the perfect lakefront experience. In the winter time, the lake freezes over and is a wonderful spot for ice skating, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and ice fishing.

Guests have the entire guest cottage to themselves as well as their own dock. The dock is available seasonally between late May to early October. The guest cottage shares a driveway with our home on the property.

A wonderful week at The Cottage on Lake McCurdy

My sister and I had a most enjoyable stay in this lovely cottage. It was "clean as a whistle", located right on a beautiful lake, with most everything one needs for a visit. The beds were very comfortable.There were lots of luxurious towels,and even beach towels were provided. There was plenty of hot water. It was located near Damariscotta, a charming town with excellent restaurants. It was close enough to the coast for day trips to Rockland, Rockport and Camden, all of which we visited. We did not meet the owners, who live right next door, but entry and exit were easy as was communication. They had provided an informative booklet listing things to do, where to go and where to eat etc.which was very helpful. We particularly enjoyed the screened-in porch where we could read and eat while looking at the lake. Two kayaks were also provided which we did not use but are always a nice addition. Our suggestions (not complaints) are providing a lobster pot (We had to cook them one at a time!) and a small dishwasher for assured cleanliness and convenience. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend The Guest Cottage.

McCurdy Pond Getaway Cottage

Wonderful relaxing second time staying in this lovely cottage where luxurious linens and towels were provided along with anything one might need in the kitchen. Loved hearing the loons!!!
