About this property

Bright and Comfortable 3 bedroom/2.5 bath Classic Conch in the Meadows

This Dade County pine house has a strong connection to the sea. It was built in the early 1900's by ship's carpenters and owned for decades by a modern day ship salvager who inherited the house from his aunt (you can see Bubba in a video at the Shipwreck Museum). The house is now owned by a Navy family of 6. This beautiful and spacious 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom home is in a lovely peaceful neighborhood. Enjoy a comfortable indoor/outdoor lifestyle with plenty of living space. Full of fun vintage, antique, and modern furniture and decor, the home retains its vintage charm, while updates make for easy modern living. The flexible space works for families, couples, and friends. Separate living areas flow together allowing everyone some space and makes the house feel very spacious. There is ample storage and we have provided everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The large kitchen has granite countertops, an island with seating, and brand new SS appliances. The wicker seating area in the kitchen is the perfect place to enjoy your morning cafe con leche from a neighborhood coffee shop. There are three outdoor spaces with a lovely view of the neighorhood from the second story porch. Enjoy friendly neighbors, walking to morning coffee, restaurants, art galleries, the grocery, the beach, and more. The yard is fully fenced and there is easy parking directly in front of the house. We have stayed in vacation homes all over the world and understand how to be a great host. We look forward to sharing our Key West home with you. We are available to help make your stay as pleasant as possible and we also have a wonderful hostess who will be assisting us. If there is anything you need to make your stay more enjoyable please ask. We want you to enjoy being in Key West as much as we do!

Enjoying life in the Meadows
This is a nice older property with an updated kitchen and bathrooms. Not overly packed with owner items and plenty of room for groceries and clothing. The house is well furnished and with everything you need for a good cooking experience in the kitchen.

January in Paradise
My family and I were lucky to stay in this beautiful, comfortable and clean Key West home in the Meadows area. The house comes with every amenity you would ever need to make your stay enjoyable and easy including beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, beach bags and bicycles. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and cleaning supplies. The front and upstairs porches were a great place to hang out and have our morning coffee and read a book. There was also extremely ample storage for everything you might bring. The Meadows is a great location, close enough to everything but far enough away to unwind with some peace and quiet in the evenings. We drove the quick 2 minutes to Higgs Beach (but could've easily biked), drove 15 minutes to Geiger Key for kayaking, walked in the evenings to all the restaurants and nightlife on Duval and the Historic Seaport. Any question was promptly addressed by the lovely owners. We loved our stay and it was hard to leave!

Our family of 6 loves Key West. The water activities, our great friends and neighbors, the museums, arts, and the quirky fun we have enjoyed for 11 years. We spent a year backpacking around the world staying in MANY vacation rentals and loved it. We are excited to now share our home with you!

Why they chose this property

This house is very charming. We have kept original details and updated to make a comfortable space for relaxed living. The house has a fun history of being build by ships carpenters to withstand hurricane force winds. A modern day salvager owned the property before we did. We hoped to find gold bars during the kitchen renovation, alas there was none to be found!

What makes this property unique

The Meadows is a very coveted neighborhood. You get all of the charm, beauty and architecture of Olde Towne- with a quiet relaxed residential environment. The area is convieniently centered to everything. Stay for a month or more and live like a local!
