About this property

Liberty Lodge - modern, accessible & surrounded by nature

Nestled on 138 acres of scenic woodlands, meadows, & the banks of the River Raisin, Liberty Lodge offers rustic-themed, accessible accommodations with a spacious floorplan, indoor & outdoor fireplaces, a terrace, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy three miles of trails, a pond, wildlife viewing, bonfires, fishing, an outdoor chapel, and much more. Indoor & outdoor accessible equipment is available. Pet friendly. A perfect place for a family gathering, corporate retreat, or getaway with friends.

Enjoy an upscale lodge décor with modern amenities. Constructed in 2015, the décor of each room is inspired by different wildlife that are native to Michigan. The first floor of the Lodge is fully accessible, and we can assist guests with indoor and outdoor mobility equipment.

The 1100-square-foot Great Room features cathedral ceilings, wood beams, and a large stone fireplace. The 55-inch smart TV includes Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and the Paramount Network. Beautiful cherry tables allow comfortable dining or meetings for up to 14 guests. The accessible kitchen includes an island, sink, and appliances that will allow everyone to participate in the meal.

The first floor includes two large bedrooms with queen beds and ample room for the use of a rollaway bed, playpen, or wheelchair. Lovely art tile adorns each of the bathrooms. The Bass Bathroom features a tile waterfall and pond with whimsical fish, turtles, and frogs and is fully accessible with a large curbless shower and grab bars. Follow the paw prints into the Bear Bathroom and discover the wonderful tile murals in its curbless shower and walls. A solid pine door separates the Great Room from the sleeping area to provide privacy and diminish noise.

A beautiful pine and iron stairway leads to the loft and upstairs bedrooms. The loft is the perfect spot to read a book, work on your laptop, or enjoy family time playing one of the many board games that have been provided. The primary bedroom includes a comfortable king bed and window with a beautiful view of the garden and meadow. A bedroom with two twin beds is a good place for kids. A pull-out double bed in the loft can also accommodate additional guests.

A 1200-square-foot outdoor terrace includes a large firepit, comfortable outdoor furniture, and patio tables that comfortably seat 12. There is plenty of room for grilling, and we can provide both large and small charcoal grills. A large pantry that can be accessed from the terrace makes serving large groups very convenient. Check out the Fun Shed to find lots of outdoor games like Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Bocce ball, flying disks, and fishing gear. Don't forget to bring your furry friends as we have a "dog spa" complete with a raised shower to rinse off the pets after they have been swimming or exploring.

The great outdoors offers some of the best opportunities for enjoyment at Liberty Lodge. This is a peaceful, secluded, and soothing environment. You will be able to explore 65 acres of native prairie meadows with fruit trees and over 40 different species of wildflowers, 60 acres of hardwood forest, and 6 acres of food plots. We maintain nearly three miles of mowed trails for romantic walks, hiking, and cross-country skiing. You may also enjoy water sports with three-quarters of a mile of frontage on the banks of the River Raisin and our farm pond. Spend some time in our accessible wildlife viewing blinds that overlook our food plots and you will likely see deer, wild turkey, birds of prey, pheasants, raccoons, ducks, geese, sandhill cranes, and a myriad of songbirds. The outdoor chapel located on a bluff overlooking the river provides the serenity for introspective reflection or to become closer to God.

There's lots more to do if you'd like to venture to the nearby attractions and restaurants. The Irish Hills are full of antique shops, wineries, mini-golf, the famous Mystery Hill, and Michigan International Speedway. Rent a pontoon boat at nearby Wamplers Lake or Clark Lake and enjoy a float-in meal at Jerry's Grill or Eagle's Nest. Enjoy the shops and restaurants of the quaint nearby communities of Napoleon, Manchester, and Brooklyn. If you care to drive a little further, Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and their universities, museums, and nightlife have a great deal to offer.

Great to relax and use as a base.
Our daughter is in a wheelchair. Access was one of the best she has experienced. She was also able to test out a track chair.

Great Family Vacation
We spent a week at Liberty Lodge with 6 adults and 2 young children and we had a great time! The facility was very clean and spacious. The provided linens and towels were quality and the kitchen was well stocked. My family had a great time, watching movies, playing games, and doing family meals. We spent time at the lodge and also used it as home base for several excursions such as to the Toledo Zoo; swimming at Hayes State Park; Hidden Gardens, and hiking at Watkins Lake State Park. We loved the fire pit right out the back door and the spacious terrace. We rented the golf cart for the last 4 days of our trip and it was well worth it to be able to drive all around the property. The only issues were caused by mother nature and beyond anyone's control which were the abundance of tics requiring frequent tic checks and due to a lack of rain the river was down several inches so fishing wasn't great. Thanks for a wonderful week!

Fourth of July getaway
We loved the house everything was so spacious and the bathrooms were done so well. W rented the golf cart to get around the property which I would recommend. Saw all kinds of wildlife, went fishing, watched fireworks from the back.yard at night. Took kids swimming at Wampler's Lake . It was a wonderful week and the history behind the Liberty Lodge regarding disabled Veterans was an added bonus for us having.do many veterans in our own family!

Beautiful private setting
This property is just as it’s listed. Roomy, clean and a lot of yard space. We were there to lay my mom and sister to rest in Tecumseh and this was near family and friends. There is a large outdoor patio with plenty of tables and chairs and a great fire pit. Liberty Lodge worked very well for us. One of our friends thought this might be a great place for their daughter’s wedding reception so they might look into it. All in all it was a great place to stay.
