Highly Recommend

We had a big group of golfers in our 30's who played at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia all weekend and stayed at The Old Fashioned. It was perfect. The Old Fashioned had plenty of common space for larger groups and adequate sleeping space as well.

Twin Lake Treasure

We had the best time recently in an area none of my siblings remember existing. We all grew up locally and never knew about this treasure of a lake. We kayaked and enjoyed a campfire listening to crickets. The early morning view was spectacular complete with sand hill cranes, blue heron, and fish jumping. Great home. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room for gathering of a large party. Highly recommend.

Great house but in need of a new cleaning crew

We enjoyed our time at this house. It had enough room, games for the grandkids, and outdoor activities. Our main concern was the lack of cleaning detail. Overall it looked fine. However, the coffee maker had dried on coffee grounds inside the cover. There were unclean dishes in the cupboards; not completely dirty but not totally clean. There were popcorn kernels across the floor and on the steps. Cobwebs were plentiful inside and outside the house. Towels were left in the dryer. There were also 2 wet towels stuffed behind the toilet on the floor...possibly for the sweating tank?? There were lots of weeds that could be cut and tamed to make the area more visually pleasing. We really did enjoy our time at this house. It is decorated very nicely. We felt comfortable there. We just felt we wouldn't have had to clean before enjoying the time there had the cleaning crew been more thorough.

House great, property management terrible.

I booked this property for a weekend get away with a group of my friends. The day before we were to check in, my wife tested positive for COVID-19 so I was obviously unable to go on the trip. The owner of the property immediately freaked out upon me telling him I couldn't make it and said he usually would just cancel the reservation which would ruin the weekend for my friends, even though we had already paid in full. I had to send repeated messages and talk to him on the phone multiple times to plead with him to not to cancel our reservation. There was no additional risk to the owner as I was still liable and my credit card was on file, but he held an additional $750 on my card for damages. He then went to the property to "check on" the guests and it was very uncomfortable for my friends. The property manager/owner ruined our weekend by not having any basic human empathy for me not traveling to the property after being within close contact for COVID-19 during a global pandemic. My friends said the property was very nice, but there was garbage strewn all over the lawn and garden area. Good property, terrible experience due to the owner/property manager.
