This charming chalet-style cabin has an open living/dining/kitchen space large enough for eight guests to enjoy dinner or watch the 65" Roku TV. There's an Xbox One to enjoy using your account and several board games at the sizeable hand-made dining table. The comfy couch pulls out into a queen-sized memory foam sleeper, and extra sheets, pillows, and blankets are in the downstairs bedroom closet.
The downstairs bedroom has a large closet and a king-sized memory foam mattress. There's a comfy chair to sit on while reading, a smart TV, and a window to enjoy the morning sunshine. There's a full bathroom across the hall, a shower/tub combination, and lots of storage in the vanity sink. There are new ADA-height toilets in both bathrooms.
The upstairs bedroom has two queen beds. The loft has two single-chair futons and a "chair-cade" gaming system. The futon chairs fold out to single-sized beds and are primarily fit for children or teens. The games are played on a 50" Roku TV with lap-desk gaming systems, including Atari and Pac-Man. Over 20 games in all.
We've stocked the kitchen with dishes and appliances, including pots and pans, a pancake griddle, utensils, a hand mixer, can openers, wine bottle openers, flatware, etc. The cooktop is electric, and there's an ice maker in the freezer. You'll also find a spice rack in the kitchen with 16 different spices, salt, and pepper, a blender for drinks and various wine and drinking glasses, dishwashing soap, a few dishwasher tabs, drying towels, etc.
We keep the coffee bar stocked with a Keurig coffee maker, a drip coffee maker, a coffee press, and an electric teapot. Our gift is a starter supply of K-cups, tea bags, sugar, creamer cups, and Splenda.
You'll find a hot tub, a picnic table with benches on the main level deck, and a gas grill screwed to the deck per Gatlinburg regulations. We provide Propane, and if you run out, there's an extra. We've also strung party lights for ambiance.
The deck off the loft looks out over trees with a seasonal view of the mountains and beautiful sunrises. Enjoy the rocking chairs in the morning with some coffee. There's another full bathroom with a stand-alone shower and a vanity with lots of storage. Admire the charming, vintage blue and white wallpaper!
The driveway has room for 2- 3 vehicles, but lock your doors and take all food inside. We have some regular visitors, young and adult bears, cruising the neighborhood for treats. They will open your car doors and may do a lot of damage. Also, lock the front doors since sometimes they come on the porch and cruise around. Take pictures if you see them from inside and send them to us. Don't worry; none have ever tried to come inside.
I guess that's it! Outside the cabin, you'll find lots of adventure. We are four minutes from the strip of Downtown Gatlinburg or Smoky Mountain National Park entrance. There's free parking on River Road downtown if you get there early enough or find an open spot. You can drive up to Ober Gatlinburg, park there for free, take the tram down, enjoy the day shopping and eating, take the tram back up, go back to the cabin, and save up to $25 in parking fees. Just a little trick we've learned! When you get to the strip, you can turn left, and the park visitor center is just about a half mile down on your right.
Guest Interaction
We are available during business hours, 9 am to 6 pm, for common questions and in the evenings for urgent situations. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 and give them the address on the refrigerator and in the welcome book. We will send a message to check on you during your stay.
Other things to note
Some restaurants will deliver to the cabin. There's an Ingles in Gatlinburg about 15 minutes away, depending on the traffic.
The neighborhood
This beautiful area of chalets and cabins is set in a wooded mountainous area of Gatlinburg. It's a quiet and safe area but is visited by bears regularly. Amenities are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. To get to the community amenities, visit ChaletVillageOwnersClub.com. There are three guest areas, three pools, a clubhouse, a small gym, tennis courts, electronic games, pool tables, ping pong tables, etc. You must have our current pass card to enter all facilities; you only need one per group. We store it in the cabin. You will find it hung or in a drawer. If you lose it, the replacement fee is $25. The amenities close during the week for cleaning and maintenance on a rotating schedule, so check the website before leaving the cabin. Directions are complicated, but you'll find them easily if you visit the website and use Google maps.
