Hibernation Station

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

Hibernation Station is right, no matter what season you visit. You won't want to leave this gorgeous home set in the woods on 15 private acres in Northern Vermont. There's room for the whole group to both spread out and gather together in lots of cozy nooks over the three levels. The main floor features wide wood beams on the ceiling and light wood floors throughout, making the space feel both expansive and cozy. Tons of windows flood the space with natural light, and all the modern furnishings blend seamlessly with the area, from the velvet sectional in front of the wood-burning fireplace to the sleek mid-century dining chairs and live edge table, with seating for guests. Around the corner, there's another dining table and a group of leather club chairs gathered in a circle, just begging for a great conversation over a bottle of wine.

Elsewhere on this floor, you'll find the large, modern kitchen with stainless appliances, a gas stove, plenty of counter space, and all the gadgets necessary to whip up a feast for everyone. Corner cabinets feature artful stained-glass detailing, which you'll find tucked into windows throughout the house. Just around the corner from the kitchen are the large private sauna and the first of five bedrooms, this one with a bed and TV.

Upstairs, you'll find three more bedrooms, one with a bed and a cozy reading nook and another with a TV. The expansive main suite features Jay Peak views, a velvet lounge chair in front of the gorgeous stone gas fireplace, a TV, a spacious walk-in closet, and an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub, concrete countertops, and a large tile shower. The second living space on this level features a sectional big enough for the group, a gas stove to keep everyone cozy, a full-size pool table, board games, and a mini-fridge, so you don't have to walk back downstairs to grab a cold drink. There's an additional sleeping loft with a play area for the kids featuring a rocket ship playhouse and a twin bed with a trundle.

You'll find a game table and chairs up a spiral staircase, perfect for a late-night card game and another TV. With so much to do at home, you may not explore too much outside, but spectacular sunset views of Jay Peak from the large deck are gorgeous no matter the season. Only three miles from Jay Peak and two and a half miles to the Jay Community trail system featuring groomed trails for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and fat biking. When the snow melts, these become fantastic hiking and mountain biking trails. Enjoy the private firepit next to the babbling stream in the summer. The Hibernation Station awaits your perfect vacation - all that's left to do is book it.

No heat or hot water
House was clean and we were all able to comfortably relax and enjoy. The downside was that we had no heat or hot water and the management company did NOTHING!!! Called multiple times and never heard back! Anytime I called the management company I was never able to get anyone competent on the phone that was able to help do anything. So sad - Great house but poor support!

Close to the mountain
currently at my second stay here. We chose to come back here despite some issues we had during our last stay. Overall this is a beautiful, spacious home. However, we had some big issues last year: the hot tub was filthy and uncleaned. They had assured us they would come clean it, but they never came at all to check on it despite multiple calls from us, we weren’t able to use it the entire trip. The hot water heater stopped working and we had no hot water or heat for over 24 hours, the only solution they offered was to put us in a different house 90 mins away. We had to repair the hot water heater ourselves! And one of the bedrooms doors doesn’t close, so you aren’t able to have privacy. Our party was hesitant to book this home again so we called the property management company Vacasa directly to address the issues we had. Vacasa assured us all the previous issues had been addressed, and no new issues with the property had been reported, so we booked it again. Here we are, 1 whole year later and we checked in today. As soon as we get here we are met with a mountain of garbage left by the cleaning company, the hot tub is DISGUSTING, green, thick film, and the bedroom door from last year STILL won’t close. How has that not been fixed in a year? Calling this property management company is beyond inconvenient. You get a new person with every call and and they assure us a “local rep” will contact us shortly and won’t provide us with a direct phone number. The owner should know.

House is great, Vacasa not so much
The house is really spacious and laid out well for a big group. We had 10 people and had plenty of space and lots of places to hang out. The sauna and fireplace were super nice and the beds were comfortable. What I didn't like is working with Vacasa. They emailed us a few days before to let us know what the hot tub was broken and wouldn't be fixed in time for our stay, which was disappointing. It took days for them to respond to my customer service request to be rebooked to a different property or at least get a refund because the amenities are why we booked this particular location. Then they tried to gaslight me into thinking the hot tub wasn't included in the listing because it wasn't listed under amenities, which is ridiculous because it was listed when I booked in August and also is in all the photos. Every message had to be routed to their local team through a main customer service phone number. All in all, after a week of communicating with them we got less than 10% back in a refund. Overall, great house but not booking with Vacasa again.

Great Winter Get Away
We were a group of family and friends with little ones getting together for a long weekend away to celebrate my father’s 60th birthday. The house is extremely spacious with plenty of room for large groups. We had little ones with us who absolutley lived the large house. Having a high chair and a pack and play there already was very helpful. The set up of the house is extremely nice. If upstairs in your bedroom, it was very quiet while others are downstairs talking and enjoying themselves. The house is only a few minutes away to a great country store, Jay Peak for skiing/snowboarding and the indoor waterpark! A perfect situated house. We had brought keurig cups knowing that there was a keurig coffee machine there. Unfortunately the keurig did not work so we had to go out to get ground coffee for our mornings. Very minimal issue, just be prepared to use the ground coffee machine instead. We did enjoy the hot tub but it was a little dirty… nothing too bad. The backyard porch lights turned on but the lamp posts did not so we did walk in the dark to go see the fire pit area. Again, a very minimal issue. Overall this house was absolutely amazing!! My family enjoyed ourselves and do look forward to perhaps staying again in the future.
