Note from Owner: "Welcome to Skylight Cottage! Three generations of our family have enjoyed this peaceful retreat, and we hope your family will, too. Skylight Cottage is filled with light from many sliding windows and doors every day, and has the perfect patio for memorable sunset photos while you grill your supper. Home is one step up from the parking area and only forty steps up from the beach with a bench along the way for catching the sunset! Enjoy your visit to this serene, mid-century home during all four seasons as there are many activities just moments away in our award winning downtown attending theater, art galleries, our farm market or wandering at your leisure. Skylight is just twenty minutes from downtown Holland or Grand Haven for shopping, dining and entertainment options, but you'll find a great option in Sandy Point Beach House, just a short 2 mile drive or bike ride away with brunch, dinner, and frequent live music. Your family may enjoy bike rides on the multi-use path that stretches from Holland to Grand Haven, and beach walks looking for sea glass and fossils. Bike and kayak rentals available in town at several locations. Just wanting a retreat from a too busy life? Enjoy the WiFi, cable television, small library, and collection of games during your visit."

Holland is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. Here, you can spend your days at Holland State Park where there is plenty of room for family fun along the white, sandy beaches. You and your family can take an excursion to Nelis' Dutch Village, DeKlomp Wooden Shoe Factory, and Veldheer Tulip Gardens. These places will bring you back in time to experience the Netherlands of the 1800's. If you find yourself in Holland the first week of May, be sure to take a look at the over 6 million tulips blooming throughout the city during Tulip Time festival, which was named the "Best Small Town Festival in America" by Reader's Digest Magazine and received USA Today's "2016 Best Flower Festival!" Downtown Holland is known as the "Great American Mainstreet." Make sure to spend a day downtown where an abundance of shopping and dining can be found, as well the funky street performers who will surely entertain you with their acrobatics, magic, music and more! When evening approaches, you can return to the beach to watch the sunset while roasting marshmallows over one of the many fire pits found along the sandy shore. From the award-winning downtown to the exceptional beaches and Dutch heritage, your family will fall in love with Holland's small town charm and big city amenities.

Skylight
The only thing I want to criticize is the listing of two full baths. The master bathtub was tiny and did not have a shower. I think it would be a better description as a half bath. Otherwise it was great!

Perfect location on Lake Michigan!
We loved the location of this property and spent every evening watching the sunset while eating our dinner. The cottage was “vintage” which we knew from the photos. The shower was small but all of the other amenities were fine. Great location near Holland State Park and Windmill Gardens.

We so enjoyed our stay here! The house was clean, smelled fresh, and had everything that we needed. Our family had a wonderful experience and it was close to/a short drive to popular destinations (downtown Holland, boat rental, state beach park, etc.) We would stay here again!
