Address: 17258 Lake Court Drive Holland, MI 49424

Red Cottage is located in an association with shared private Lake Michigan beach access located less than 100 yards and 70 stairs away. This beautiful Holland home is the perfect location for your vacation destination. The screened in front porch allows for beautiful water views and the backyard is great for playing yard games, cooking on the charcoal grill or gathering around the fire for smores.

This home features 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.  Bedroom 1 & 2 both have Queen size beds and bedroom 3 has a twin over full bunk bed.  There is also a sofa sleeper in the living room. The kitchen, living room, and dining area are all open and connected so the family can be spread out but still together.  The bathroom is updated with a stand up shower. Even though a majority of your time will be spent at the beach, exploring nearby, or relaxing on the porch; this cozy home will be enjoyed by the whole family!  This is not a pet friendly property.

Holland is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. Here, you can spend your days at Holland State Park where there is plenty of room for family fun along the white, sandy beaches. You and your family can take an excursion to Nelis' Dutch Village, DeKlomp Wooden Shoe Factory, and Veldheer Tulip Gardens. These places will bring you back in time to experience the Netherlands of the 1800's. If you find yourself in Holland the first week of May, be sure to take a look at the over 6 million tulips blooming throughout the city during Tulip Time festival, which was named the "Best Small Town Festival in America" by Reader's Digest Magazine and received USA Today's "2016 Best Flower Festival!" Downtown Holland is known as the "Great American Mainstreet." Make sure to spend a day downtown where an abundance of shopping and dining can be found, as well the funky street performers who will surely entertain you with their acrobatics, magic, music and more! When evening approaches, you can return to the beach to watch the sunset while roasting marshmallows over one of the many fire pits found along the sandy shore. From the award-winning downtown to the exceptional beaches and Dutch heritage, your family will fall in love with Holland's small town charm and big city amenities.

Great stay with a few small drawbacks
Overall, we had a great stay. The cottage has central A/C, a sun room and pretty much everything you need for a good stay. It's located close enough to town, as well as the beach. It also has 3 bedrooms and can sleep upwards of 6 or more. Some of the small drawbacks are that there is only 1 bathroom, the walk down to the beach consists of 3 steep sets of stairs and can be tiring for older people, and the faucet water is well and can upset stomachs. We also had a brief run in with one of the neighbors who said she was family of the owner. She made us feel a little like nuisances, which we didn't appreciate, but it was only a couple minute conversation and didn't ruin our trip. All in all, we had a great family time on the beach and in town, thank you for a great stay!

Great beach access
We loved taking the stairs to the beach each day and having our own little spot to be on Lake Michigan. This house is a bit more rustic feeling than some, but we knew we were paying for the great location. There was a lengthy process for registering with Lake Michigan Cottages that I wasn’t expecting when I booked through VRBO. However, they were very responsive through email when I had questions during our stay. Overall, I think we would stay here again for the access to the beach. We would love it even more if they would update some of the furniture.

Convenient location but difficult to get down to beach
This vintage cabin is cute and at a great location. However, the steps down to the beach are extremely high and steep. Where talking the equivalent of 4-5 flights of stairs straight down and extremely steep. This was fine for adults to trek but I wouldn’t recommend for families with young kids, as it would be difficult to get down to the beach. Once you reach the beach, it is beautiful though.
