NO EVENTS AND NO PARTIES STRICTLY ENFORCED
"The Hideout at Buck Island" is 35 minutes from downtown Huntsville, on the shoreline of Guntersville Lake, in a quiet cove just minutes to the main channel, with a private dock 100 feet from the back door. The home sits on a half-acre gently sloping lot with 180 feet of shoreline. The roomy 2400 square foot home with a screened in porch and a large deck provides ample room for guests to be comfortable with modern conveniences, while enjoying the wildlife that make frequent appearances including Bald Eagles, Osprey and Great Blue Herons.
The "Hideout at Buck Island" has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have adjoining private bathrooms. One of these has a Queen bed, the other one has a Queen bed and two twins. The third bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds. The third bathroom is in a hallway across from the third bedroom. The home sleeps 10. The two upper bunks have side rails, and have a weight limit of 120 pounds and are not suitable for children under 5 years of age. All beds have memory foam mattresses purchased in 2022. All linens, bedding, and towels were purchased in 2022.
The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and serve meals for groups of 10. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, bakeware, crock pot, hand mixer, blender, coffee pot, and grilling utensils. The sunroom has a table with seating for six and a second table with seating for four. The attached screened in porch has table seating for four, with an additional four seats. There is outdoor seating on the back deck.
There is a step down in the house. The kitchen, living room and one bedroom are on the same level. The sunroom that runs along the back of the house has a step down. Two of the bedrooms are entered through the sunroom, requiring a step down into the sunroom, and a step up.
The private dock is about 100 feet from the back of the house, and has decking 12 feet by 32 feet with a view towards the main channel. This cove is a favorite of the local fishermen and will be one of your favorite fishing holes too. Guntersville Yacht Club and Marina is across the channel at the mouth of the cove and enforces a strict no wake zone, which limits random boat traffic into the cove.
We also own and manage “SB Hideout,” a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom house that sleeps 7 and is only 300 yards away. Rent both houses to sleep 17.
There is a lot to do at The Hideout: play outdoor games, sit around the firepit, fish from the private dock, kayak in the cove, rent a 23 foot Searay ski boat (driver included). Contact host to make arrangements to rent the ski boat or for questions.
The closest boat launches are minutes away off Highway 431, a public launch just before the Veterans Memorial Bridge going into town and at Alred Marina Ramp. Other nearby boat launches can be found here: https://www.fishing.org/ramps/alabama/guntersville#.
