All of our apartments are stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials, blow dryers, irons, ironing boards, and free wifi access.

Our apartment #300 is actually a combination of two studio apartments, #300 and #301. Now #300 has a large living room, and a large separate bedroom. In the living room is a queen size sleeper sofa, two large stuffed chairs and a table with seating for four. The TV is a wide screen HDTV with DVD player. The kitchen is at the other end of the apartment and it has a dining table in it as well. The kitchen has a full size gas range, refrigerator and microwave oven. The bath has an original clawfoot tub (with shower), perfect for soaking after a day on the town. The bedroom has a king bed. Both bedroom and living room have a/c. There is free wireless internet. Our parking lot is directly behind the building.

The grocery across the street is truly world class, a great selection of produce, excellent deli, bakery, wines, cheeses. There is a large drugstore above the supermarket. There are restaurants, stores and night spots on every block, all around us. This place is happening!

This is a charming building, built in 1910, well kept up with period woodwork and classic charm. There are several retail spaces at street level and two floors of apartments above them. The building is on the corner of East Pike Street and Harvard Ave. The Apartment is on the third floor on the Harvard Avenue Side of the building. It has a great view down to Harvard. Across the street is a 24 hour grocery store, great for shopping and also if you just want to people watch! East Pike Street is louder, with traffic and people on the street at all hours, Harvard has much less noise, making the apartment a great place for an extended vacation.

This is a wonderful location to explore the city! It’s just ten blocks to the center of Seattle’s downtown business area, an easy walk. From here Pike Street runs downhill toward the waterfront, through downtown and another 6 blocks to the Pike Place Market. We’re in the neighborhood know as Capitol Hill, with the handy grocery, lots of places to eat, shop and party.

We have a full-time, live-in manager, Johnny Sidorowicz, who takes care of making reservations and checking people in and out. Johnny lives in apartment 200 and if there's every anything you need while you're with us, he's always ready to help.

About the Owner

Mark Chambers and Oda Egeland own St. John's. We bought the building in 2005 and remodeled all the apartments, combining several to make two bedroom units and changing six into short-term rentals. I (Mark) have been a builder all my life and this was a very fun project. The building has character and that was saved and honored; at the same time new plumbing and new electrical systems were installed, bringing it up to modern standards. The plumbing, for example, has a loop system, so there is always hot water as soon as you turn on the faucet.

We're a couple in our 50's and the building is an investment for us, and a lot more. We live in the country but stay in our short terms when we come into town. St. John's is our home in the city! We've made the apartments more than just furnished rooms. We've tried to make everything in each apartment be super comfortable. We think we've done a good job so far and we're still working on it. He hope you'll come stay with us, and look forward to meeting you when you do!

My husband and I were very pleased with out stay here. It was exactly how it was prictured online. The apartment is conveniently located near restaurants, grocery stores, Seattle University and downtown areas. The apartment is clean and updated. we have everything we needed. Johnny has been very warm and helpful all throughout our stay. Thank you very much and we hope to come back and stay here again.

St John's Is Awesome!

My family and I have spent a great deal of time in the Seattle area visiting for concerts, sporting events and to enjoy city life. This trip was different one of our family was going to be in the hospital for an extended stay so instead of a hotel we were seeking more of a permanent comfortable place to stay for the several months that we would be spending time in Seattle. What we found with St John's was a gem! A wonderful place to call home while we were in the city! My wife and I rented the apartment for 2 months we fell in love with it and even had other family join us in neighboring units in the building 319 & 308! The building is old with so much character and charm! The rooms were always spotless and clean and the staff Christine helping with our reservations and Johnny the building manager was always there when we needed anything! I have stayed in some of the nicest hotels in the city and my first choice forever will now be St John's! The Capital Hill Neighborhood has many great places to eat, grocery store right across the street and a nice walk downtown to Pike Place is easy! It is even awesome for taking in the sporting events the streetcar is a block away and takes you right to the stadium! The new light rail is just a few blocks away as well which can now take you right to Husky stadium and you avoid all the parking and headaches! Comfy clean just like home! J

Snug & Comfortable Week's Winter Stay

Coming for a week's visit with my son and daughter-in-law, I most wanted to be close to their apartment. St. John's Apartments was a short two blocks from them. We spent time together in my apartment cooking, playing games, and reading since it was quite cold outside, and we also ventured out to nearby restaurants, Elliot Bay Bookstore, the Sunday Broadway Farmers Market, and even walks downtown. Having the grocery store right across the street was wonderfully convenient.

Although this is a busy section of Capitol Hill and can be noisy, I really was not bothered by it. The apartment was clean and most comfortable. Johnny reset the WiFi when I lost it temporarily. I especially enjoyed the claw foot tub, the truly comfortable bed, and the two flat-screen TVs. An added nice touch is all the original art work. I will stay here again when I come back to visit my son. It was the perfect place for me.

Thanksgiving Week 2014 at St. Johns

We stayed at St. Johns for the week of Thanksgiving, 2014 so we could spend time with our daughter and her husband who live nearby. We found the apartment to be especially clean and tidy, and the master bed very comfortable. We had a wonderful time, the apartment is spacious and well located ~ we loved the fact that we only had to walk across the street to QFC for groceries, etc. The location could not have been any better..... lots of places to eat, drink and be merry! We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting the Seattle area and hope someday to come back and stay again!

Fantastic property in downtown Seattle

This is the second time I've booked Suite 300 at St. John's Apartments. The crew managing the place are wonderfully attentive and responsive. The unit is very spacious, clean, and well-equipped with appliances, dishes and cookware. It even had a few of the essentials - oil, basic spices, mustard, etc - which saved us money and effort.

We will definitely be booking this place again in the future.

Great apartment, great location.

The apartment was very comfortable. A great king size bed and even a very comfortable sofa bed. As advertised, it is the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. The location is great as far as restaurants, cafes and bars. The only problem is that it is such a hip neighborhood that it was very loud at night. If you don't mind that, then this is a great place for you. I would definitely stay here again.

We bought the building here because it was here, and we got lucky finding it. It was just what we wanted. We wanted a mix of businesses from our building and we wanted to be involved with our tenants. We have short term tenants, people on vacation and people on business trips; plus 17 full time residents in the building; plus the retail businesses on the ground floor. We have a diverse mix of tenants and short term guests. It's a great business model and it works well because of our unique location. The street we're on, and the neighborhood, and the businesses around us, make this the perfect location to stay when you're in Seattle!

  • There is a king bed in the Master Bedroom. In the Living Room we have a sleeper sofa by American Leather. The sleeper mechanism is patented, basically boards and foam that lift out of the frame. It's a much better sleeper than the old kind with the metal frame. There's no sagging and it gives nice support.
