About this property

Our quaint, freshly renovated beach cottage is located 4 doors down from the beach access and less than half a mile from the Pier. Located near the Pier is where you will find the local eats, boutiques, Cafes, and other locally own stores. The Hideout gets its name from its unique location. It is located behind our other beach home “IslandTime” The hideout is on the ground floor, completely detached from IslandTime. It features a private grass fenced in yard with a patio/deck.
We are excited to share these experiences and hope you enjoy your time on the Island. This is a pet friendly home. If you're bringing a pet please let us know. There is a $100 pet fee. The cleaning and linen fees are pass through charges.

Very nice cottage

The cottage is very nice and was the perfect size for me, my husband and our dog. It was just as nice as the pictures online. Very clean and modern. We had a short walk to the beach and enjoyed walking to the park and on the bridge to the island. Neighbors and local people were all very friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfection.

The weather was a literal wash the majority of the time, but I was so happy to have this adorable spot for front porch sitting to enjoy the beach environment even though we weren’t on the beach. The day of arrival, I was so in love with this house I booked a weeklong vacation in the future. The spot is about 1-2 mins from the beach, and super convenient to my favorite restaurants— specifically Shaka Taco! If it wasn’t for the rain (and a 4 year old with a broken leg) we probably wouldn’t have drove anywhere. Sarah was super responsive. I could tell she and her family take pride in the home and call it their own. The house was stocked beyond all expectations, even including a dog bed and crate. My pups loved the fenced in yard and all around just amazing for each of us. Also— I accidentally left our little whale nightlight, so I feel like we left our own little touch. :) I can’t wait to go back and I’m trying to recruit friends to rent the upper home the same week ;).

Hideaway Getaway

We stayed at the Hideaway for a short spring break getaway from upstate New York. The location was perfect...close to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Quiet neighborhood. This little house was perfect for our small family of 3.

My husband and I both grew up in beach towns, one of us from New England and the other from southern GA.

After leaving these cozy beach towns we found ourselves too far from the beach for too long so last year we started the search for the perfect beach town. Surf City was just the place we were looking for. With it's beautiful beaches and small town feel it is perfect!

We spent a good part of last year renovating the 2 homes on the property we purchased. While working on the houses Lily, our 8 year old daughter, Bia and Bella, our 2 fur babies, would play at the beach. (Surf City is pet friendly year round!) We've gotten to know the locals, restaurants and shops, all of which are amazing. Lily loves the beach, bike rides to the ice cream shops and playing at the park. We know you will enjoy this perfect little beach town too!

Location! Location! Location!

We are located a short 1-2 minute walk to the beach, a 3 minute bike ride from the pier and shops, and the local park with a playground and fishing boardwalk is a 7-10 minute walk from the house.

What makes this property unique

Our property is located between two beach access points taking only 2 minutes to get your feet in the sand.
You will have your own washer/dryer in a common area shared with "Island Time" our other home on the property. If your traveling with another family don't hesitate to ask about renting both homes.
You'll also have 2 designated parking spots, 1 under the house and 1 in front.

We are a pet friendly home. Please be sure to click the box "PETS" when booking. There is a $100 pet fee. The cleaning and linen fee are pass threw charges. Linens are optional. If you forget to check the box "pets" when booking please let us know and we can correct the booking, thanks.
