When guests arrive they're always shocked by how big it really is - nearly twice the size of any rental in our area. Read on and find out why we're so popular!

The space you will occupy is two huge domes joined together totaling 5000 square feet of indoor area for your friends and family. We only take one booking at a time so you get the whole space. We live next door on site. We will greet you on arrival and be nearby if you need anything. Otherwise, you're on your own!

The dining area easily seats 16 and the large living room offers multiple seating areas. A large deck provides even more places to chill! Where's YOUR favourite place to curl up with a book and a bevvie?

6 bedrooms and 13 beds give plenty of sleeping options.
All the cooking appliances you could need are waiting in the kitchen as well as china, cutlery, pots and pans etc. There is an outdoor BBQ. Propane and utensils are supplied. It is so amazing to be completely surrounded in nature, 10 miles from any other homes! Get ready for peace and quiet, beauty, and comfort.

We encourage environmental and conservation awareness! Hope to see you soon!

Guest access

Drive right up to your door.. There's plenty of parking!
And there's tons of Nat'l Forest Trails all around us, plus lots of cool day trips! We're about 35 minutes drive from High Rolls, and from there you can go up to Cloudcroft, or down to Alamogordo. White Sands Nat'l Park, the Petroglyphs, Valley of Fire, Space and History Museums and more are all very do-able day trips from here.

Other things to note:

Cell phone reception is decent with most providers but not all. We have good internet.

We have delicious pure mountain spring water - no need to haul in bottled water!

We do not allow wild and/or heavy drinking parties.

We allow well socialized well behaved dogs. There is a fee of $25. per dog. Please note, we have two Great Pyrenees who are very friendly and who protect our property.

This is a very unique site - it is our home as well as a functional art gallery, and is decorated with many beautiful things. Small children must be monitored at all times.

If you are hosting a workshop please let us know.

PLEASE NOTE:

When driving here, once you turn off Hwy 82, the first mile is paved and then it is 11 miles of winding gravel mountain road the rest of the way. This is a Nat'l Forest road and while it is always passable, the condition of the road varies. If there's been a lot of precipitation it can be muddy in a few spots. We will advise you prior to your arrival if weather looks dubious, and if we feel 4WD is necessary. We suggest driving in daylight because the views are stunning!

Quiet mountain getaway
Gorgeous location, wonderful hosts, unique and welcoming house. I’m not sure what we can say that hasn’t been said already. It’s a beautiful space with everything a group could need. The listing is accurate and the photos don’t do it justice. If you are looking for a spacious, quiet, art-filled scenic getaway in the middle of a forest in the mountains, this is the place for you. The hosts are helpful and responsive and their fabulous dogs accompanied us on our walk in the woods which was awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a lovely dinner that we enjoyed at the massive dining table. We sat in the extraordinarily spacious, fire-warmed living room chatting while watching Lightning overhead through the dome windows. It’s the perfect place to just slow down and enjoy the world around you. A couple of days was all we needed to get a good reset, but we’d love to stay longer next time!

A true off the grid getaway
Doug was great. Place was what we were looking for. We enjoyed the quietness and relaxation. The stars at night were amazing to see. We spent the whole night looking up and gazing. It was endless. Place is huge with plenty of rooms and beds to accommodate a big family and friends to enjoy. You can spend the day looking at the art on the walls, listening to music, and exploring around the area. Trails everywhere. We drove away on our last day and all agreed we would come back.

We treasure the vastness of the nature around us and get a lot of joy out of introducing guests to the mountain wilderness of NM.. We've hosted people from all over the world and it never ceases to amaze us how incredible that is! Basically we are easy going 'love life' kind of people with the great luck to live in paradise, and to have the ability to share it!

Why they chose this property

First of all, New Mexico is awesome! It's history, landscape, Nat'l Parks, culture, art... all unique, fascinating and beautiful. There is SO much to see here! We are located in the Sacramento Mountains which are actually the tail end of the Rockies! Our rare property is completely surrounded by Lincoln Nat'l Forest so we have no one living near us. Guests tell us staying here has rejuvenated them clear to their soul! Here they found the time and space and tranquility to deeply connect with their friends and family... and themselves. We are right next door if you need us, and you won't see us if you don't! Much as we love meeting new people and sharing a slice of life, if you want to be alone this is the place. The Domes is an amazing gift and we love seeing the 'Wow! on peoples faces when they first enter our beautiful home. You will be surrounded by art and books and interesting things, and all our guests tell us it is WAY bigger than they thought. The photos really don't capture the sheer size! Its the same outside. How do you truly convey 1000's of acres of mountains and trees, and views that span over 80 miles in a few photos? And while we have all the comforts of home, we are all about sustainable living. Even our water is piped down the mountain from a natural spring, and it is delicious! We are self sufficient here and its fantastic!

What makes this property unique

No other rentals in Cloudcroft or High Rolls offer so much space. 5000 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 13 proper full size beds - it's all yours.
No other homes for 10 miles in either direction.
Unusual dome design is a must see!
Remote, yet close enough to many attractions to do day trips: White Sands Nat'l Park, Petroglyph Park, Carlsbad Caverns, Valle del Fuego, Historical Museums, Space Museum, Art Galleries, Ruidoso and Cloudcroft...
Fantastic hiking right outside your door.
New Mexico skies uninterrupted. Virtually no light bleed here - night skies are amazing!
