2 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen) , 1 bath, sleeps 6 (incl. 2 on living room sofabed)
This beautiful two bedroom flat is the perfect place to use as homebase for your San Francisco getaway. Mid-century and Danish modern furniture complements this 1940 flat. The living room features a fireplace, sectional sofa (which doubles as a sofa bed), 46 inch HDTV flatscreen TV, Roku media player & BluRay player, sitting area, and enormous view window looking out on the Sutro tower atop Twin Peaks. The dining room is the perfect place to sit down and recount the day's adventures over a meal prepared in the newly remodeled gourmet kitchen, cooked on the backyard grill, or delivered from any of the fine restaurants nearby. The ample bedrooms are each furnished with 32 inch flat screen HDTV televisions, Roku media players, as well as iPod docking clock radios. The house also features a rotating selection of local art & San Francisco themed displays.
The Home: Your home away from home in one of the most beautiful cities in the world includes a formal living room and formal dining room with seating for 6, newly-remodeled kitchen, two big light-filled bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen), and 1 bathroom with a tub and separate shower stall. The approx. 1375 sq. ft. architectural gem is in a two unit 1940’s style building, and features hardwood flooring, original art deco design details, and vintage furnishings. The bedrooms are located in the rear of the flat, overlooking the garden with a view of one of San Francisco’s oddball treasures, the Columbarium. The living room sofa also converts to a queen-size sleeper, if you are in need of extra space. There are public tennis courts and a swimming pool at the park across the street. If this property is booked have a look at https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p4086232.
Golden Gate Park: The flat has a spectacular location: a 3 block walk leads to Golden Gate Park, including such sights as: the Conservatory of Flowers, Academy of Sciences, M.H. de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, and the Arboretum (Botanical Garden); as well as such activities as: a children-only playground, archery, biking and skating, golf, horseback riding, lawn bowling, tennis, fly-fishing, and plenty of spots for a wonderful picnic. The park is larger than New York's Central Park, and is covered with more than one million trees and contains its own herd of bison.
Transportation: No car is needed with this centrally located flat (it has a WalkScore of 94!). If you tire of walking, taxicabs are plentiful, and San Francisco’s public transportation system is easy and intuitive. Having a bus stop one block away from the flat makes travel to Ocean Beach, shopping downtown at boutiques or the mall, the Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. a snap. If you're coming for business or a convention, Express Bus service to Downtown operates morning & evening from one block away!
Finally, if you do bring a car there is abundant street parking, including some sections where you may leave a car parked for a full week without a permit. If you will be staying for an extended period, a temporary permit can be obtained – just ask!
Great SF city experience

Exactly as pictured, everything as promised.
Nice apartment. Clean, cozy, great kitchen. Had an issue with the microwave which Chris corrected very quickly. Impressive. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and/or recommend to friends. Great location.
Did rent a car for the week as we drove to Napa Valley, Stanford University, and other car worthy destinations. Never had an issue finding a parking spot. Unrestricted spots by park can be hard to come by but always found a spot within 3 blocks on first attempt. The two hour parking limit from 8-5, in most locations, really didn't seem to pose a problem. Allowed us to arrive after 3pm and stay put until 10am. Left car sitting for in town trips. Easier to take cab to places like Fisherman's Wharf and cab fare was about the same as parking cost. A little planning made the street cleaning closures uneventful.
Only reason for 4 star rating is that living room furniture could use updating. Pretty warn but didn't change how much we enjoyed the apartment. Bathroom could also use a little work but everything functioned. Again - didn't change usability/enjoyment.
Very quaint home in a very good location to restaurants on Geary and Clemente Street
We enjoyed our stay for our family of five (2 adults, kids 19,17,11). All the descriptions of the house and reviews were accurate. Would rate the home a 9/10. Would rate location 10/10. In a nice, safe area close to Golden Gate Park and all the yummy Chinese restaurants on Clemente and Geary. There is a convenience store/gas Station nearby as well as a farmers market on Fourth and Geary. I'd rate the customer service by owner a 10/10. We arrived early, and was instructed to ask the maid about what time we could check-in. We were permitted to leave luggage in one of the closets bedrooms, which was nice. The owner was very generous in providing a goody basket of snacks and hot cocoa, and wine and filled the refrigerator with complimentary water and soda. We have stayed at houses before, but this is the first time we experienced such generosity by the owner with the complimentary snacks and drinks. One evening neighbors upstairs were a little loud. I texted the owner and shortly after, everything was quiet. Kitchen: Very nice and modern with new cabinets and stainless steel appliances. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, oil, sugar, seasonings. The dishwasher ran well and was quiet. Couldn't figure out how to use the microwave and set the cook time. We figured out when you pressed the "cook pizza" button, it at least turned on the microwave, but then we had to randomly guess the time and stop the microwave. Wifii connection was excellent, probably faster then we have at our home. Nice to have a washer and dryer, located on the lower floor. The dryer doesn't seem to work well when it is packed with lots of clothes. It took us a little long to dry our clothes. Living Room: I slept on the pullout couch, and it was firm and comfortable. We couldn't figure out how to use the tv, but that was okay since weren't home much. We enjoyed playing the game of Clue that we taught our kids how to play. Dining Room was plenty big for the five of us to eat and play Clue. Lots of books there to read, had a DVD player. I could hear a little road noise from the street. Bathroom: was a little small and dated but cute, shower was also pretty small. Bathroom sink was slow to drain. Hardwood floors a little creaky. Water very hot at sinks so be careful. Overall, beautiful quaint older home, very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed coming home and would choose the house again if we were in the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Great location, things were as advertised
Great experience as all was as advertised. Centrally located for the tourist scene( bus stop just one block, Golden gate Park just a short walk) and easy to get to from the airport. I would recommend this property to friends and will keep it on my list of places if i ever get back to San Francisco.
Unit was charming with it's "mid century" look. The free parking across the street was great as like any city, parking is tough and expensive. Chris does a great job with his list of pointers like noting the street sweeper times which are also clearly noted on every block.
Great SF city experience
The location was perfect, spacious, clean, comfortable and easy to access. For our family of 5 it was just as adorable as a hotel stay but much better then the typical hotel stay. You will not be let down with this site. We had a blast.
A clean and comfortable spot for a family
My Canadian family and I stayed here for a week. The property is spacious and the kitchen is very nice-my only complaint with the kitchen is that it could use some new pans as the teflon ones they had were in very poor condition. The hosts had left many snacks, pops and 2 nice bottles of wine which was very welcome after our long travel day to get there. There are many stores within walking distance including a drug store and a grocery store.
We rented a car but parking was a big issue for sure. I do not recommend having a car while staying here. The few long term spots that were available filled up quickly and my husband had to spend an hour in the car on Wednesday morning waiting for the street cleaner to be done and race to get a spot in a frenzy of cars doing the same thing. Consequently we only took the car we rented out one day as we were worried we would never get a spot again if we gave it up.
We had gotten CityPass
The flat itself was very clean and comfortable and a welcome retreat after a long day. There were five of us. My son slept on the pull out sofa in the living room and said it was very comfortable. The bathroom itself was very clean, but older and in need of updating. The bathroom sink had a very slow drain which worsened throughout the week. I noticed other reviewers have also mentioned this issue so I was surprised that it wasn't fixed. Laundry machines were easily available on site and I happily used them several times.
Overall, we were happy with this property. It was a much better bargain than a hotel and gave us much more space. es (which include bus and streetcar passes) and they were easy to use and the bus stops are all very close by, and the Muni is easy to understand.
Great location and friendly owner
This was our first family trip to SF and Chris was very helpful in guiding us through various aspects of SF before and during our stay. The flat is centrally located for our needs and is well maintained. Our only issue was to find parking as the limited spaces tend to get filled up quickly to leave the vehicle parked all day. Access to the Muni is a short walk to get to various attractions. Will definitely recommend.
