This is a cozy apartment with beautiful views of Lisbon! Loved our stay there
Great Views of Lisboa
Fantastic location and great apartment.
Great apartment with even better view!
My husband and I spent 5 nights there with friends while visiting Lisbon. Our favorite thing about the apt. was the amazing view of Rossio Square all the way down to the water! Walking distance to the square, the train station, and many restaurants. While there are many stairs to get to the unit, I would highly recommend it, as that is how you get the amazing view.
We really enjoyed our stay. Great separation of spaces. The unit was beautifully remodeled. We loved the oversized bathtub. Those are getting hard to find. The views are spectacular. The neighborhood felt a little sketchy but we had no problems. We would recommend this place.
Lovely views over the city and out to the river. Centrally located near Rossio Square (a short 5 minute walk). Apartment is fully equipped. Beds comfortable and bathrooms nicely appointed. Quiet area. Could use one more chair in sitting area. Odd smell at times in upstairs bathroom. Lovely property.
We absolutely loved Lisbon. It exceeded our expectations in every way except for this apartment which we rented for 12 days.
-The view is stunning.
-The apartment is bright and attractive.
-The location is convenient. We walked miles everyday. Both the Rossio train station and the Rossio Metro stop are very close.
-There's a working fireplace
-When we met the property manager to check in, there was one roll of toilet paper for two bathrooms. When we pointed it out, she found another one, along with two dishwasher detergent packets, from the unit below. The next day, we discovered that the refrigerator door was broken and wouldn't stay closed, three kitchen lightbulbs (over the island and sink) were burnt out and the drains smelled strongly of sewage after water was run. The upstairs bathroom where we showered and washed up was the worst and the smell permeated into the bedroom. It dissipated during the day because we were able to leave the large skylight open but it got cold at night so that we could only leave it open a crack with the doors to the bathroom closed. That helped somewhat, but not nearly enough. We contacted the owner direct when we were unable to reach Property Management. He was able to contact them and a maintenance person was sent out the next day who repaired the refrigerator and replaced 2 of the bulbs. He checked out the smell, but because he came late in the afternoon after the skylight had been open all day and long after our morning showers, he didn't detect the odor. We thanked the owner for getting the refrigerator repaired and two of the light bulbs replaced but told him that the smell was still an issue. We suggested that the maintenance person check it out in the morning but he didn't respond and the maintenance man never came out again When we checked out, we took the property manager upstairs and she immediately smelled the disgusting odor and promised to pass on our concerns again.
-The neighborhood is somewhat sketchy.
-The windows are quirky and difficult to close.
-We rented this apartment because it had a balcony and we wanted to be able to sit outside and enjoy the incredible view. We found out that the balcony is on the unattractive street side of the house. There are floor to ceiling windows with Juliet balconies facing the view but the furniture isn't arranged to take full advantage of it. I should have done more research up front.
Dear Susan, we take pride in an outstanding track record of ratings for our properties. Therefore we would like to respond to your points which honestly surprised us to a certain extend and we feel need to be explained:
We provide sufficient toilet paper for the stay of our guests, by mistake the cleaning company did not put the planned 6 rolls in the apartment and was called to order in this matter. The writer forgot to mention that more rolls were provided the next day immediately and there was no shortage at all. However, please also be aware that we are not a hotel and therefore this is a self—catering accommodation.
The fridge worked perfectly at check-in, the fridge door then lost a screw and we do not know if it was because of mishandling of the very same guests. The door was repaired in a 5 min intervention as well as the exchange of the bulbs. Although of course we always check the status of the apartments before check-ins, honestly a fallen screw and 2 bulbs missing hardly can be judged as "serious maintenance issues“ even more as it was amended in 5 minutes the next day.
Concerning the smell - we rent out the apartment for 4 years now and never experienced any complains because of this. In some weather conditions when heavy wind occurs there might be a sink smell which is common in the old town as the canalization is old and there might come smell up the pipes. The bathrooms however are very well ventilated and when opening the window from time to time there never was a problem except for this guest.
Concerning the design of the apartment we believe the pictures speak for itself and it always has been highly appreciated by our guests.
We work for 8 years now with our 2 check-in managers Vanessa and Valeria as well as our dedicated maintenance staff. The responsiveness of our team has always been a strength of ours and mentioned in several reviews of our properties.
