About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

SANCTUARY is a large, renovated, 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage located near Rogue's Cove marina, on the southern end of Shore Drive, otherwise known as the 'sunshine coast'. Steps carved in the rock lead into the water and provide access to excellent swimming, snorkeling or just relaxing. The 20' x 14' tiki hut provides a great spot for lounging and watching spectacular sunsets which we hope will continue on a daily basis. Use of a 2 person kayak is included in your rental.

The Palms is close to lots of beautiful beaches, shopping and many yummy restaurants. Keep in touch with the outside world, if you must, with broadband wireless internet or visit historic Haynes Library in Governor's Harbor for access.

So come and visit and enjoy the warm, relaxed feeling that radiates from our little island!

Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

We travel to Eleuthera frequently and loved staying in Palmetto Point. It is pretty much the middle of the island so you can travel to Governor's Harbour and points north just as easily as heading to Tarpum Bay and points south. The house was perfect for our family's stay. The house is spacious with high ceilings and an open living to dining room floorpan. The master bedroom and bathroom were perfect for us and the second bedroom and bathroom had two beds for the kids. The furniture was comfortable and there was plenty of seating. The kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, and dishes you could need. The front porch offered a beautiful view of the ocean and was covered so there was plenty of shade. The area in front of the house had a cut out in the shape of a U into the ocean which allowed a protected place for the kids to swim. The owner, Tim and the house manager, Chris were extremely helpful and prompt answering our questions and checking on us to be sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet seaside escape

  • 4 of 5

The Palms looks much as the pictures although no camera on earth adequately captures the amazing shifting blues and greens in the sea! The cottage was perfect for my daughter and myself, we are adventurous and so did not mind seclusion and privacy at the end of our days, and it WAS quiet! We snorkeled right out front (loved the ease of access from the steps and moat!) and saw great coral and fish!

We also had rented a car and explored several beaches, with Tippy'''s our final favorite due to simplicity of access and great drinks that we enjoyed on the pink sand beach from the tiki huts at the bottom of the steps! We did get stuck in the sand once so beware! But friendly locals helped us right out of that jam so now it's just a great adventure story!

The Palms is a great central location for checking out the island, and accessing groceries, liquor, banks and gas with just a little drive time. We appreciated the wifi at day's end and the ac and ceiling fans too as (big surprise) it's quite HOT in Eleuthera in late June!

Thanks to Tim for the rental and to Sue for the car and her lovely hospitality! Do not miss Island Farms for the pineapple salsa and smoked fish...also a good Bloody Mary mix!

Four Weeks...Not Enough!

  • 5 of 5

After a couple of short stays on Eleuthera and twice in Costa Rica for extended stays in past years, we returned to Eleuthera this year for a month at The Palms. From the 'get-go' we felt the privacy, the serenity, the positive energy of the place, the peace of the Caribbean and the comfort of the accommodation. We awoke with the rising sun warming our deck, we moved our coffee and tea to the Tiki Hut, listened to the lapping water on the coral reef and gazed out over the spans of sea and islands to the north. The Palms offered us all the amenities and cleanliness that we had hoped for , a full well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds in spacious bedrooms with views to the sea, an open family area for dining and socializing. Our 4-week experience at The Palms was ideal for our needs to relax, to prepare most of our own meals, to write, to paint and to return to a level of communion with each other that is often a challenge amidst the world of work and the long cold chill of this past winter in New England. We will return to The Palms.

A Little Bit of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just spent 10 glorious days at "The Palms". The perfect beach cottage. Right on the water, beautiful sunsets, and great location. Great deck and tiki hut. Everything we needed and more was provided. We cooked dinner several nights at the cottage while watching the sunset. Star gazing at night was amazing.Very relaxing and romantic. The residents of Eleuthra are just lovely. We have never encountered such friendly people. Our favorite beach was Poponi just 5 minutes away. You are only 6 miles from town and very close to the farm market. Thanks Tim! See you again and thanks for the welcome surprise.

Best Of Three Weeks in Eleuthera

  • 5 of 5

I rented Tim's place for a vacation with my daughter, son-in-law, and my two little grandchildren. The house was perfect for all of us - spacious and well equipped, including very comfortable beds, nice linens and plenty of towels. The kids loved the sandy play area and we loved relaxing under the palm trees. We really enjoyed the wifi and TV after sundown, especially Canadian coverage of the final men's hockey game in the Olympics! Our day trips to beautiful beaches all over the island never ceased to amaze. We loved the nearby Ten Bay Beach the best. The location in Palmetto Point is a perfect home base for daily exploring. Making arrangements for our vacation with Tim was easy and seamless. Caretaker Chris was always available to assist in our arrival and questions throughout the week. Thank you Tim and Chris! We had a wonderful stay at The Palms!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

The house was just as it appeared in the pictures and was delightful! The tiki hut was absolutely perfect for shade and sunning yourself! The snorkeling in front of the house was very clear and we saw lots of fun things right there at the house. It was a great central location and a quick trip to governors harbour. The 2 person kayak was great to have as well. If you travel down to lighthouse beach make sure your car has good clearance and good tires. We popped a tire about 2 miles down the dirt road! Luckily we had a spare. Mostly, it's a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful island!!

Owner's Response: Thanks Becky! We're glad you had a good time and hope you come back to see us soon! Now that you have 'sand in your shoes' you have to return to Eleuthera, or so the saying goes...
