Is stylishly furnished with all the comforts of home, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day; watch a movie, enjoy a glass of wine or entertain family or friends in this warm light filled apartment.

The building:

Welcome to The Harrison Modern, we have 4 wonderful apartments to offer in a, well designed, refurbished, Mid-Century, four unit building. For your privacy each unit has a separate entrance, the address is; 1111 – 1117 E. Harrison Street. I have lived in the building for 16 years and the neighborhood for 21, I would be happy to give you a local perspective on sightseeing or dining in the neighborhood during your stay.

The location:

Capitol Hill is one of Seattle's most vibrant neighborhoods, with wonderful stately homes, parks, museums, shopping, restaurants, theaters and other attractions all within a short walk from the property.

We have a fantastic location in the heart of this historic neighborhood, within 3 minutes walk you will find a variety of shopping, restaurants, cafes, and 3 supermarkets

We are on the same street as Seattle University and a 5 minute walk from the Pike/Pine Corridor bars, cafes & nightlife. Downtown Seattle is 1 mile from the building as is the Washington State Trade & Convention Center, and the Hospitals on First Hill. The Pike Place Market and the Seattle Space Needle are also easily accessed either on foot or by the extensive bus network that passes 2 blocks from the building on the eclectic Broadway Shopping street. You will LOVE the location!!

After staying at many Vacation Rental Properties over the past 8 years I am confident you will thoroughly enjoy your stay with us. I have painstakingly created a retreat that is both functional and stylish. This spacious apartment has an additional 300sq feet of private outdoor space, it features the following:

Most things are within an easy five to ten minute walk of from the building: Volunteer Park, Conservatory, Asian Art Museum, Cal Anderson Park, a large of shops, restaurants and Coffee houses.

Within an easy 15 to 20 minute walk of: Downtown Seattle,Convention Center, Pike Place Market, Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Art Museum, Waterfront shops, Seattle Center, Space Needle, Experience Music Project, , Schools: Seattle University, Seattle Central Community College, Cornish College of Arts.

Within a ten minute drive of: The University of Washington, Woodland Park Zoo, Boeing Field and The Flight Museum, Ferries to the Olympic Peninsula, The Ballard Locks, Mariners and Seahawks Stadiums, West Seattle and Alki Beach.

Within a 20 minute drive of:

Seatac International Airport, Bellevue, Redmond.

We are located near all major bus lines.

We are a 15 minute walk the Washington State Convention Center / Trade Center, Paramount Theater,and 20 minutes to Pacific Place and Westlake Center

I have owned and lived in the Harrison Modern since 1997. I have a passion for architecture and interior design, you will see this in every aspect of the building. Originally born in New Zealand, I have traveled the world and the US extensively, I believe that Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. My background is in Tourism Marketing, I worked for the New Zealand Tourism Board in Los Angeles for 8 years before moving to Seattle in 1994. I have a love of travel and new experiences - Whenever I away I always stay at vacation apartments, as you get a real feel for the destination you are visiting.

Clean, great location, and nice apartment

My wife and I have stayed in this apartment many times over the years visiting our children in Seattle. The apartment is always clean and ready for us upon arrival. The location is also great. within a couple of blocks of restaurants, shopping, the light rail and other public transportation. The apartment is as described in the literature and Ian, the property owner, will make sure your needs are taken care of. We highly recommend this apartment.

cozy, convenient and well appointed

my husband and i came to seattle for a long weekend and were extremely happy with our stay. the apartment was well stocked with towels, a comfortable bed, lovely kitchen, all clean and to boot the place is located in a great area. the local restaurants and bars were fabulous, but the area is also residential so quiet and scenic. we rented a car and there was easy parking at the building, which made day trips out of the city very feasible. loved our visit and hope to be back soon!

Great location, great pad

We had an excellent time! Central to everything and easy access to and from the airport. The unit was bright and quiet, and very spacious. As most have commented, the tv situation was a little weird which didn't matter a whole lot since we only watched in a few moments of downtime. Ian was also awesome to have allowed us a little extra time for check out since our flight was later in the day. Saved us from needing to haul our bags around everywhere, so was definitely appreciated! The only minor criticism was that there was a little bit of old building smell in the place. Easily forgotten, and likely a product of the rains, but nothing a little febreze couldn't fix. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks for the hospitality!

Great apartment in a very convenient location.

We arrived to a very comfortable, attractive and clean apartment. The photos provided in the listing well-represent the actual apartment. The outside deck and BBQ grill were much appreciated. We enjoyed great weather during our stay so we used this feature more than expected. For the few minor things that needed attention, the owner--Ian, quickly responded to our needs. The apartment is well-equipped with kitchen supplies, towels and sheets. And we appreciated the no extra charge washer and dryers provided in the building. The location is great. We loved the Capitol Hill area. We could walk to buy groceries and necessities as well as to some good restaurants. We especially enjoyed our meal and margaritas at Barrio Mexican Kitchen and Bar on 12th Ave. The Seattle Link light rail is a very close walk away--we used that every day to head downtown. You can also use it to and from SeaTac. The apartment is also close to several bus stops, which were even a shorter walk away. All in all we had a lovely 12 day stay. Hope to return again soon!! Wonderful accomodations!

My friends and I came for a girls trip and the place was great. Centrally located. Walking distance from the light rail and many fun resturaunts and bars and a cheap taxi from other areas of interest. Clean. Full amenities. Warm hosts who had quick response times to our messages and were accommodating of our travel plans with regard to check in and check out times. The porch was gorgeous and really perfect for hanging out. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfection!!

This was my second stay at Harrison Modern this year and it still is perfect!! As an Alaskan, we frequently have to travel to Seattle to see medical specialists and this is such a great place to stay. I love how immaculately clean it is, that's very high on my priority list. I love that it's quiet and private. I love the location, am able to walk to stores, markets, restaurants, etc. It's a safe quiet neighborhood.

Seattle is a vibrant city full of amazing sights from world class architecture, vibrant arts scene, to spectacular outdoor activities. Capitol Hill, is the perfect location to explore all Seattle and everything the region has to offer. If you are not traveling outside the city you won't need a car, everything is within an easy walk or a short bus ride. Within 3 short blocks of the building are a number of great restaurants, shops and cafes, 2 supermarkets and 3 wonderful city parks. Capitol Hill is a rich, diverse, neighborhood with multi million mansions and a wonderful farmer's market within blocks of each other. One thing I am sure about... You will love the location. I have done a lot of traveling and believe that Seattle and the Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful, livable, areas in the North America.
