About this property

Built in 1882 and conveniently located on East Gaston Street in the historic district, this stately home is steps to Forsyth Park and within easy walking distance of restaurants, historic attractions, museums, squares, shopping, and the famous Riverfront. The property includes the main 4-bedroom house, (consisting of the upper three levels of the home), and a 1-bedroom carriage house, each with a private entrance and shared access to the rear courtyard. This spacious home has been beautifully restored and decorated, maintaining many original features, but updated with modern conveniences. This home is ideal for wedding parties, girls' weekends, large groups, and family reunions! Sleeps 12 total.

The main house retains many original features, including 11-ft. ceilings on the main floor, 10-ft. ceilings on the upper level, fireplaces in each bedroom (decorative only), original floors and woodwork, antiques, and period decor. On the main level is the living room, formal dining room, fully-stocked kitchen with stainless appliances and custom cabinetry, a breakfast room, and half bath. The second level has two bedrooms, a bonus room, and a full bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The top level has two additional bedrooms and a full bathroom with a claw-foot tub/shower.
A balcony off the breakfast room overlooks a lovely courtyard below, and a full-size washer and dryer are located in the hallway on the upper level for guest use. The house has high-speed Internet and TVs in each bedroom for streaming. The living room TV also has cable. Note that there are several staircases and no elevator.

The Carriage House sleeps 2 and is located across the courtyard directly behind the main house and features a one-bedroom apartment above a one-car garage. The apartment features a cozy living room with seating and a kitchenette, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a bathroom with a shower. A front porch with seating overlooks the courtyard and is an excellent spot for relaxing after a day of touring historic Savannah. A full-size washer and dryer are also located in the garage below.

A Memorable Family Christmas

The property worked well for our extended family of 10. When we first walked in and saw the Christmas tree, we knew we'd made a good choice. We appreciated having bedrooms & beds for everyone and a dining table large enough for us to sit together for meals. The location is perfect. We enjoyed being able to walk to so many of the places we wanted to see/explore/eat at. We all enjoyed the Saturday farmer's market in Forsythe Park and the restaurant there on another day. The free DOT busses were only a block or two away, making it easy to visit the waterfront with its many shops and restaurants. Even a grocery store was only a short walk away. Savannah is a beautiful city and the hosts were responsive to our needs. Thank you for a memorable, family Christmas.

Perfect spot for a large crew

We had our wedding in Savannah in October and this is where I housed my side of the family. The house was beautiful and had all of the space we needed. And it was awesome to have the carriage house room all to myself for some peace and quiet between festivities. Jessica was so responsive and kind with all of my questions. Can't wait to come back again! And the location was incredible for quiet walks in the beautiful Forsyth Park.

We love this grand old home for its historic appeal, beautiful architecture, original floors, woodwork, and trim, as well as its prime location, which is only half a block from Forsyth Park on beautiful and historic E. Gaston Street. It is centrally located and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and squares, and about a 20-minute walk to the historic Riverfront.
