Wonderful views from the patio area and was spacious enough for our family of 5 although we moved the fold up bed from the lounge to the hall way upstairs that acted as a bedroom for our eldest child and it worked out well. It was a bonus for our children to find a games console which was great, cupboards full of plates etc but perhaps a bit more cutlery needed . The area is beautiful and the shop and bar at the top of the road is wonderful can recommend using both. The walk down to Zoagli isn't half as bad as you think and the walk back doesn't take much longer so walking out for an evening meal is easily done. We would certainly return to the property if we were to revisit this area.
thanks for the nice comments. I am so glad your kids like it and we hope you come back! (will buy more cutlery)
Had a fantastic time in Zoagli, the property has the most beautiful views from 2 great terraces, the inside is fine too, kitchen is basic but ok, and has good dishwasher, fridge, washing machine etc... but the main attraction here for us is definitely the outdoor space and views, we spent every evening on the terrace watching the sunset and boats in the bay, so relaxing and our boys enjoyed the table tennis (and wifi!) too . The store and bar just up the hill were perfect with friendly staff, and had everything you need really, it is a pull up on foot from the town and beach to the apartment but we knew that already, you can't get a view this good without some effort! We couldn't find a taxi in Zoagli, but trains from Zoagli station at the bottom of the hill were great for getting around and the boat trip from Rappalo to Portofini made a great day out. My only wish was we had stayed here a little longer, so many places to visit, maybe another time! And Maria was so helpful answering all our questions and sending an info pack before we arrived, a great host. Thankyou!
Thanks for these beautiful remarks. I am so pleased you enjoyed the house and had a great holiday! Maria
all in all a great place to be
We enjoyed the neighbourhood of Zoagli - the view is stunning. We didn't have a car, so the trip up hill was a bit tough, but always worth it at the end. It's less touristy than the surrounded cities, which we enjoyed! The house is cute and has many personal marks. All in all a really nice experience. We would have love to stay longer! Thanks a lot
Thanks for the great review. Come back! Maria
A pleasant stay in Liguria
We selected this location in Zoagli in anticipation that it would be a good baae for our exploration for a bit over a week of this area of Italy, including Cinque Terre where we intended to spend some days hiking. Our expectations were well met. Overall, the stay was pleasant. The home, which was in reality a spacious two bedroom apartment in a small housing complex on the Zoagli hillside, was comfortable and basically as described - great views of the Mediterranean, nice patio and natural garden, comfortable beds, good quiet location. We received good information from the owners on how to get there by car. And regional train transportation was convenient, if often not on time as scheduled by Trenitalia (not a fault of the home owners). In fact, there is a train station in Zoagli that takes about 15 min to reach by foot, and longer to get back uphill to the home.
The two of us would likely have rated the stay as excellent except for a few small but slightly aggravating flaws that we suggest for the owners to correct and that would be easy to take care of - gas stove is old and burners are worn out, cork screws were broken, only one small espresso coffee maker, television system was complicated and not hooked up properly, no single folder or binder of information for the house and the local environment (eg, trains, groceries, restaurants etc.). Still, overall it was a pleasant stay.
Thank you very much for this review. I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the view and the surroundings. I took your comments very seriously and fixed the tv and replaced parts that were old and missing in the kitchen. We have updated thew folder with information regarding trains restaurants etc.)
Relaxing location with a dynamite view.
The house is roomy and comfortable, with all needed features. Having a reserved parking spot is a real Plus. We enjoyed visiting the nearby restaurants, and grocery store. Be mindful of the hours. The steps from parking to house seemed difficult at first, but got easier as the week went on.
Of course, the main story is the VIEW. Sitting on the patio eating breakfast, or drinking a glass of wine in the evening. Looking at Portofino, the cruise ships, the small sail boats. What a terrific experience!
Beautiful Home with great views
This house was a perfect location for us to explore the Amalfi Coast. An easy drive to Rapallo, we enjoyed taking a boat to visit the San Fruttuoso Abbey, where we had a delicious lunch overlooking the beach. The pictures of the house are very accurate, however, the outside views do not represent the ocean views well...the views are amazing!! We really enjoyed our stay, loved the furnishings and the homey feel of the house. We would definitely stay again should we find ourselves in the area.
Hilltop house with a stunning view of Portofino, Italy. The house is on the Italian Riviera, and is perfectly located to visit Genoa, (30 minutes) Lucca and Pisa (1.5 hours) Florence ( 2 hours) Milan (2 hours). The beach in Zoagli -a wonderful seaside village is a short walk, and the UNESCO World Heritage Cinque Terre can be reached by train in 45 minutes.
The large garden has a herb garden, olive trees, fruit trees, in a quiet hill town called San Pietro di Rovereto.
