Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Alvin and Carolanne,

Dave and I would like to thank you for the opportunity to stay at your villa. Suffice to say we had a wonderful time and can well understand why you and others travel yearly to Costa Rica. Our children and grandchildren continue to thank us for the trip with "it was amazing!"

The only downfall - which of course we were aware of- was it was too short a vacation. However, on a positive note, we know it was a success when everyone cried "I don't want to go home!"

We certainly appreciated your detailed descriptions of the area and activity suggestions. We did zip lining ( I screamed throughout - similar to the howler monkey), our boys including 7 year old grandson took surfing lessons at the beach in Tamerindo while my 5 year old granddaughter and I "boogie boarded", did the hike along the shoreline to the neighboring beach Playa Ocotal, ate lunch and then faced a challenging hike back when the tide came in (we were very pleased with ourselves once we got back), snorkeled, went on the rafting tour and saw crocodiles and last but not least spent a great deal of time relaxing, walking the beach looking for treasures and enjoying the pools. We are very grateful for this family time in such a lovely spot!

Again, thank you! I will also give Sue a call to thank her for coordinating our connection! We will remain warm during the remainder of this winter with our memories of time spent in Costa Rica!

Best wishes,

Katharine and family

Best Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

My family (2 adults, 3 teenagers) stayed here for 12 days. The villa is amazing. It has everything you need to complete your vacation in paradise. The villa is large, comfortable, and well stocked. The owner, Al, went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect, including helping with a rental car, suggesting places to visit, and telling us which grocery store he would recommend. The environment is so beautiful, that you don't even need to leave the villa and beach area to have a great time. The view is fantastic, and the snorkeling right off the beach is great. I sure miss going to sleep hearing the waves whooshing on the shore.

Owner's Response: Thanks Sue, We're glad that you had an amazing time with the family. Funny you should mention about staying at the resort. When our granddaughters come to visit for the month in January and February, their favourite time is hanging around the beach. We try to do an activity every other day outside the resort. God forbid if we ever change our date at the beach. It's an awesome location and we're glad to share it with you. We hope you'll turn someday soon Al and Carolanne

Great place to stay! What you see is what you get!!

  • 5 of 5

Ending a beautiful week here in Costa Rica! We had a great trip due largely in part to Al who made booking the villa and all the details super easy and also Cesar in the front office who not only arranged our transportation to and from the airport but also helped us book tours, etc. Fantastic staff at the resort only enhanced our experience.

The villa was everything it was advertised to be!!! Clean and tastefully decorated, the villa is located a mere 10 steps to the pool and just a few hundred yards from the most beautiful private beach I've ever seen. Great place for a relaxing trip away with the girls or a low-key, hang at the beach week with your family. The pool and the beach were rarely crowded and most mornings (being early risers) we had the entire beach and pool to ourselves. It was almost like being on your own island with modern amenities!!!! We did not rent a car while we were here and I do not feel that we missed out on anything by not doing so. While the resort itself seems fairly isolated and unspoiled, when we wanted to go into town it was just a short taxi ride away. In town, you can easily walk the strip between Coco Beach and the main drag so shopping and dining was easy and hassle free.

We will definitely recommend this rental to our friends and family back home and hope to come again ourselves in the near future!!

Owner's Response: Dear Beth, Thank you for your kind comments! We are so happy that you and your family were able to enjoy our little slice of paradise! Having the beach and pools steps away from our door is very special.. I agree with you, that time early in the morning when the beach is yours alone is very special. Hope you are able to make it back soon. Al and Carolanne

Beatiful private villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at BPV in April 2016. I shared the apartment with my wife and 4 sons. There was plenty of room. I really believe that this is probably the perfect place to stay in Costa Rica.

It's only a half hour to the airport. You can leave the US in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon. Another restaurant and scuba diving is only 5 minutes away and Coco is only a few minutes beyond that. Coco is a fun place to walk around when tired of the beach.

The villa faces a private beach without other tourists or a marina.

Picante restaurant is as good as any in Costa Rica and you can almost roll out of bed into the restaurant.

Al is a wonderful host who arranges all the details and can arrange many exciting excursions as well.

We had a wonderful time and would go back in a heartbeat.

Private Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 traveled with another family of 3. The accomodations were perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The living room , kitchen and porch area provided more than enough room for lounging and sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. The fully stocked kitchen and laundry room definitely help manage our crowd. Additionally, Ceasar, the property manager was super helpful in planning door to door excursions. Definitely hope to return!!

BEST VACATION EVER!!

  • 5 of 5

We had two families on this vacation, four adults and four girls (ages 10, 10, 13 and 15). The villa was perfect. The view from the patio was just breathtaking and very private. And I have never seen the night sky look so beautiful. The villa was very well stocked and had everything we needed and more. Management was very friendly and helped us book several excursions. I am already planning a return trip and I want to stay at THIS villa!

Bahia Pez Vela - Unbeatable!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four (kids 7, 10) who stayed in in BPV earlier in July 2015 and felt like we had been transported to paradise! We’ve stayed at BPV previously and loved it so much that we’ve returned several times - but this was our first stay in this unit. If things work out our way, we’ll continue to stay only in this going forward. It should be noted that it is a very safe area, BPV is a gated community and the larger area surrounding the community is gated as well (although I have to say we went many places and always felt safe, never observed or heard of any disturbances. I've also gone jogging alone throughout the BVP area and surroundings and have encountered only friendly folks).

The unit is clean, well furnished and homey at the same time. All details from the cookware to the outdoor shower, clothing line, and patio furniture, books, games and puzzles, and landscaping have clearly been considered. All the amenities were available and lovely to boot. To our family, beds and bedding are very important. Here too, the villa was way above the bar. Linens felt very comfortable and the memory foam-type mattresses were fantastic – we slept so soundly every night of our stay! Since the unit is set up the hill slightly, the view is from the treetops but you are literally steps from the ocean. The best of both worlds! Birds, monkeys, dragonflies, butterflies, the beach and sea as your view and neighbors, each moment of the day! At BPV, our human neighbors have always been great, too, and our kids usually have others to play with. The proximity to the pool and restaurant are perfect as well – just a minute’s walk away. Cesar at the front desk is always resourceful and helpful. Juan, Kenneth and Cesar at the Picante restaurant are warm and accommodating, and the food and drinks are great! Even the groundskeepers are fabulous – always willing to chop open a coconut for a curious child.

BPV is a great location to travel to – close to town, beaches, beauty and many varied day-trips.

Can't wait to return! Pura Vida!

Amenities

From the Owner

Costa Rica is so unique - the Tico's are friendly, hardworking and very modest. The safe environment allows everyone the opportunity to explore their natural wonders. There's so much to see and do within an hour and half drive from the villa that you will want to come back, just like many of our guests.
