About John Ashworth
As the owners of Chandler House, we feel that Craftsbury Common has a remarkable spirit and sense of place unlike any other that we have visited. One of us is an architect who specializes in the design of resort facilities throughout North America and abroad. The other is an actor and child psychiatrist specializing in Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome or PTSD. Craftsbury is a great place to recharge. It unfailingly reminds us what is important in our lives and why we do what we do.

Our “Happy Place”
The house is a jewell, overlooking pristine Craftsbury Common. No place we would rather be. Total relaxation.
Looking forward to another visit next year
We stayed at the Chandler House for few days in July and again in August. This is our home base when dropping off the kids at Hosmer Point or participating in activities at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Could not image staying anywhere else. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner in regards to a small mishap...John is a super nice guy and very accommodating.
Looking forward to another visit next year.
A Great Time on the Common
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home!
Our only feedback are a couple of small items: the upstairs bathroom that faces the common has a sink that needs to be unclogged and the downstairs bathroom could use a little updating like the other bathrooms.
This really was perfect in every way. First, the house was absolutely amazing. It has such a wonderful feel, with larger rooms and bright windows. John & Victor are such wonderful hosts and really make you feel at home. The house is meticulously decorated in a quintessential Vermont feel and is so pristine. We enjoyed just lounging around so much. The location is perfect - right on the common. We really enjoyed our morning and evening walks around town, plus being right by the action during antiques & uniques. Loved being able to head down to the "geny" for provisions and Peet's for veggies. We really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area - so many great places for hikes, watering holes, arts & crafts, libations, and on and on and on. Can't wait to go back!
Lovely Home - Everything you Need
Had a great stay at this large house well appointed house. Extended family came for dinner and we all sat outside and enjoyed the night air and I am sure were very loud but we did try to keep it down. The house has everything you would need in the kitchen - everything. Plenty of towels in the bathrooms, and nice robes. What a treat to each have our own bathrooms. This was a very simple transaction for me and there was no need to contact the owner for anything. We were lucky to get to stay there!
Great house with ample sized bedrooms and individual baths for each. Location is post card ready. Furnishings also top end. Just an incredible house.
Located in the heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom including spectacular scenery and Fall foliage; unparalleled outdoor activities, abundant wildlife and local crafts.
