A Kaimalu Garden
Charles's place is just what we look for in our Hawaiian travels: lush landscapes, near the ocean and stay in "authentic" ohanas that are hosted by folks who share the stories of where they live.
Mahalo for a great visit! Come any time. Thank you so much for the Rambutan. They were delicious, and I'm saving the seeds.
Everything we needed
We loved the privacy that was just far enough away.....but also close enough to all we wanted to do in the Kailua-Kona area. The property is gorgeous, with many mango trees, and a variety of flowers. The owner grows Orchids, it was fun to walk through and see the varieties grown. The home has everything one can need. The bird watching off the Lanai, and the hilarious duck added to our enjoyment. Thanks for sharing your property!
Aloha and much mahalo for a great visit. Please, if your in the islands again, come and visit.
Tucked away from crowds, close to beaches, cool spot
We stayed here the second part of our trip after spending a few nights in Volcano and around the Hilo side. If you want to be away touristy areas, this is the place to be. It is a short drive to beaches, snorkeling, kayaking, Kona. There is a small grocery store nearby and restaurant options also a short drive away.
Check out two step for great snorkeling and rent a kayak (lots of dolphins and turtles in the nearby bays). Beach and snorkel gear here if you don't bring your own. This spot was well stocked if you plan on cooking. The grounds are beautiful and this spot was clean, comfortable and cozy. Loved the screened in lanai to help keep out the bugs. If you haven't been to Hawaii before, don't be alarmed of the geckos inside... they will help catch the bugs. Use the fans and keep the windows open for a nice breeze. We were entertained by the duck who came to hang out with us each day :).
Overall great spot, tucked away in the hillside. So close, but just far enough away, just like the title suggests. Would recommend this spot and will be back again.
WOW, beautiful review! Makes me want to watch your travel show.
Take care, visit anytime.
Dreamy Hawaiian Cottage
Simple cottage with large lanai. Beautiful grounds, with mango trees, orchids and a profusion of flowers, plus a view of the bay. Quiet but not far from beaches, market and local restaurants. If you are there on a Sunday, go to the Captain Cook farmers market. Not fancy, but peaceful and beautiful.
Great guests, welcome any time!
Out of the way
My wife and I loved our stay! Out of the way of the busy resort areas, quiet and peaceful. Thanks Charles for your hospitality!
Beautiful beyond imagining
