Post Labor Day Getaway
Quaint and cozy cabin nestled above the river. The location at the end of the street provided a quiet peaceful setting for our family. Perfect for dogs with the enclosed outdoor deck. The hot tub added an extra layer of comfort and relaxation. New mattresses and television would be a great improvement! We hope to return soon!
Winter way in the summer
Excellent location , private , perfect mountain cabin. We stayed seven days at Winter Way and found it per decor for our family, friends and dogs. We found this to be the perfect cabin for our summer adventures and hope to make more memories. Should show pictures of back desk and double back doors that open to the beautiful meadow and the sounds of the running steam
Thank you so much and so glad you enjoyed the cabin and your stay. Will take your recommendation to post new photos of back deck. We'll look forward to seeing you again!
Best Cabin Yet
Been renting cabins in this area for over ten years and we enjoyed this one more than any others. The location gave us a feeling of that mountain seclusion that we we love. This cabin feels more like a cabin in the mountains than a neighborhood. I don’t want to knock the others we rented but the location is above the rest. Neighborhood is very quit and the is no through traffic. When we first arrived we opened the back doors to let in the fresh air and were pleasantly surprised to hear the water running through the back of the property. Needless to say this is a perfect setting for relaxation. We love going to the lake to swim and hike but knowing that we could also lounge on the deck or soak in the hot tub with sound of Stanislaus River afterward was a definite plus. We will definitely be back and not forget a fishing license. It look like they were doing well on the river.
So very happy that you like the cabin and had a wonderful time and we will be very happy to have you back! The Pinecrest Sport Shop (also known as Rich & Sal's Pinecrest Sport Shop) normally has fishing licenses, so a good option if you come up without one (I don't think they run out, but you can call to be sure). See you again!
Really near to pinecrest.
Everything was as advertised. Beds could use new mattresses (some a little hard). Could use some more wine glasses, luckily we carry our own. TV not so great but not high on our list of things to do. Everything was great and would have no problem staying here again.
So glad you liked the cabin! Thanks for the head's up on the wine glasses. We go through them VERY quickly and I haven't checked on their status in a while. We have unfortunately been having issues with our cable company, as only 1/2 of the channels are working and those that are coming in at all are very fuzzy. We called them while you were at the cabin, but they have yet to come out and we will call again this week. We will also be happy to have you back!
Private & peaceful cabin
We had a wonderful, relaxing week’s stay at the Winter Way cabin. The cabin itself was clean and tidy upon our arrival, which is always welcoming. The hot tub, while a bit dirty at the bottom, really added to our visit! We especially appreciated that the deck was dog-proof, allowing our pup to run loose and watch the wildlife safely. Our only frustration was that the cable TV was out our entire visit (1st week of Tour de France); we got a very limited number of poor quality channels. Other than that, we had an excellent week. Quiet mornings and evenings on the deck are what we’re missing most! Thank you; we’ll definitely be back!
Thank you for taking time to write a detailed review! Glad you enjoyed the cabin. Thank you also for mentioning the cable TV. We have no way of knowing if it is out unless someone says something, and the guests currently staying called us with TV questions about some of the channels, so I'm wondering if it is still out and will call the provider. I am sorry about the hot tub. It was vacuumed prior to your arrival, but I did notice an unusual amount of debris in the bottom at your departure, especially for use by just the two of you. I think that some debris settles out after vacuuming. But, probably not as much as you are describing, and we also strongly suspect that neighborhood people try to use the hot tub in between our guests (which would have been gutsy in your case since you arrived the same day someone else left). Will try to keep an eye on it. Hope to see you again!
Great vacation getaway
Great location. Somewhat private and secluded at the end of the street. Nicely equipped cabin. Laundry facilities would be a nice addition.
Thank you for taking time to post a review! So happy that you enjoyed the cabin. Yes, laundry would be good, especially for longer stays. Would have to be a complete remodel under the cabin (there is currently one for our use, but in a very unsafe area with multi-level uneven flooring, in which I'm sure I will break an arm, leg or my neck some day, and for which insurance won't cover us if we open it to guests). We'd probably have to shut down the cabin for a month or two to get this done and the popularity of the cabin never seems to indicate a good time. It is an amenity that will likely go lacking, but happily doesn't seem to affect people's stays (as long as they are aware in advance!).
