Beautiful luxury villa lacking a couple of basics!
The property was plenty big enough for our party of 10. It was well maintained and clean when we arrived with bed linen and hand towels provided, however, larger towels would have been provided at an extra charge, plus a fee for laundering them which was not clear in the description. There were areas that needed some attention such as cracked & chipped crockery, only 4 mugs in the property that could potentially sleep 18 people! Some areas of the decking were loose/lifting and rotting but overall the gardens and pool area were well kept and maintained. While the property is within a walkable distance to the beach and nearest restaurant, a car is needed to get to these areas as they are reached by walking along a road which has no footpath or lighting and snakes down to the beach from the cliff where the villa is situated. There is a shop about 200 metres from the property which stocks a good variety of things, however, to reach a supermarket or to access towns or places to visit a car is a must! The villa manager, Paolo, was helpful in arranging airport transfers for some of the group and answered queries promptly.

Fuscaldo is a picturesque Calabrian town situated on a cliff 350m over the sea level, which dates back to the Magna Grecia era (7th century BC), when the Greek started colonization of Southern Italy.
As a result of its prominent position over one of the few inland transport links between the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian sea, Fuscaldo was one of the most important regional centres in ancient times and has remained a key trading and political hub since the Roman era.
Luigiane Spa Wellness Center
10km from the villa
Luigiane Spa is one of the oldest Spa centers in Italy. They are located in Guardia, a town which was part of Fuscaldo jurisdiction in the Roman times. Plinio the Elder, a Roman philosopher who died in 79 AD, was the first to mention the fame of the curative powers of the Spa.
The Luigiane Spa Wellness Center today offers state of the art facilities including Spa center, Hydromassage center and fisiochinesi therapy and a large thermal pool.
The Spa Centers also offers tennis courts and other outdoor sport facilities which can be booked on demand.

Convento di San Francesco
10km from the villa
Francesco da Paola has been a key religious figure in Calabrian history. He died in 1507 and was canonized in 1519, and later nominated the saint patron of the Calabrian region by Pope John XXIII in 1963. He was the founder of the Roman Catholic Order of Minims.
His legacy and history of his life are still preserved as of today in a large monastery in Paola which he founded with the help of the local religious community.
