We are conveniently located on Cortland Avenue, the heart of Bernal Heights, and only two blocks away from a wonderful selection of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and independently owned boutiques and shops. Within the vicinity, we have our own library, fitness gym, dry cleaner, pet store, yoga studio, florist, as well as parks and playgrounds. A few short blocks away is San Francisco’s famous Alemany Farmers Market (Sat) and Flea Market (Sun). The apartment is about 20 minutes from San Francisco International Airport, and about 10 minutes from downtown by car. Easy freeway access to Highways 101 and 280. Two Muni bus lines can take you to the downtown area, as well as BART stations at Glen Park and Mission/24th. Urban hikes are plentiful in our beautiful Bernal neighborhood, with the highlight at the top of Bernal Heights Park, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the Bay. Local residents are a friendly, eclectic mix of families, professionals, dog lovers and young couples with babies. There is ample free street parking outside the apartment.
The entire apartment has been newly renovated and fitted with modern amenities, including fresh bed linens, bath towels and a well-stocked kitchen with all the comforts of home. It can comfortably sleep 3 adults (or an exception - 2 adults and 2 small children below 10 years old), with a queen-sized bed in the bedroom plus a fold-down, full-sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The space is ideal for couples.
All utilities are included in the price, and the rate of $150 per night is valid for 2 people. For more than 2 people, the rate will be $160 per night (up to max. 3).
1. Rent fee can be paid by cash, check, PayPal or credit card via one Away Reservation Manager.
2. Separate payments of US$80 cleaning fee and US$100 refundable security deposit to be paid in cash or 2 checks (for USA guests) upon check in.
3. All guests are required to acknowledge and sign a standard rental agreement that provides an overview of duration of stay, total rent fee, house rules.
4. Rental Agreement and Arrival Guide will be sent to guests by email upon confirmation of booking.
5. Check in time: after 2pm; Check out time: before 10am
6. Access to washer and dryer can be arranged for longer stays.

1. Is the apartment noisy?
The apartment is on the main street, Cortland Avenue, and we are in the city. City life happens. The apartment has double glazed windows and insulated walls to cut down on noise, and it does help. Noise tolerance is very personal and highly subjective to the individual’s comfort zone. Most of our guests do not have a problem with street noise, even babies and toddlers have slept soundly throughout the night in our apartment! If you are a very light sleeper or highly sensitive to any noise, then this is not the right place for you.
2. Why do you charge an extra $80 cleaning fee?
The cleaning fee is a one-time charge to clean the apartment after you check out. It is a fair market rate by San Francisco standard. We take pride in delivering a clean, sanitized and comfortable apartment to each guest staying with us.
3. Why do I need to sign a rental agreement with you?
The rental agreement is a standard document that I require all my guests to acknowledge and sign, so that we are on the same page and have no cause for any misunderstanding. Different hosts have their own way of doing things to ensure a safe environment for themselves and their guests. I find it useful as a communication tool to make sure all is good and agreeable before the guests check in. This is also one way to gauge the sincerity of complete strangers coming into our home.
4. Is there parking available?
There is ample free street parking on our side of Cortland Avenue. It is not a problem to find parking either just outside or near the apartment.
5. What is your refund policy?
An upfront deposit equivalent to one night’s stay is required to reserve the apartment. The balance payment is due one month before arrival date. You can cancel your reservation at any time, provided that you notify us one month before your check in date to get your initial deposit back. If the check in date is less than a month away, then a full payment is required to book the apartment. No refunds will be issued for last minute cancellations.
6. Can 4 adults stay in your apartment?
NO. Our listing clearly states the maximum occupancy is 3 adults, or 2 adults with 2 small children under 10 years old.
7. Are babies and toddlers welcome?
Yes of course! Just a few things to consider: The apartment is essentially meant for two adults, so we are not equipped for infants and toddlers i.e. no child proofing and no bathtub, only a small shower stall. This might be something to think about with infants and young children.
8. Is my baby/toddler considered a third person?
We are happy to waive the third person charge for children under 12 months old. Extra person charge applies for everyone older than 1 year old.

We spent a very enjoyable week in this apartment which was well appointed and perfect in every way.
Prior to our arrival we received lots of helpful information on travel routes to the apartment. Although our arrival time was very late at night Lisa was there waiting to welcome us and show us around the apartment.
The apartment's proximity to public transport was ideal for exploring this beautiful city, an added bonus being that Bernal Heights missed much of the fog which affected the downtown areas.
Lisa was a most attentive host and was readily available and happy to answer any queries we had.
We would definitely recommend this apartment and would love to stay there again on any future visits to San Francisco.

Everything was great during our stay. The apartment was very clean and organized. Lisa was a wonderful host, she gave a good booklet with information about the best places to go in each neighbourhood. The bus (24? not sure if I remember correctly) stops right in front of the place and is super easy.
Oh! do check out the breakfast place down the street, delicious food!!

Very great apartment
Lisa's Apartment is very nice and comfortable, very clean, with many reflections tastefully furnished. All is on hand, we have nothing missed. This really pleasant and agreeable apartment is very favourable located in the wonderful neighbourhood of Bernal Heights and his main street Cortland ave. with a lot of wonderful restaurants, shops etc. And the public transport by bus ist very handy! And Lisa herself: has a very very kindly manner, helpful, with great interest on us. We think that her guests are very important for her. Shortly: extremly commendable for a great stay in SF. We'll come back here the next time in SF.
Stayed in Lisa's apartment in Bernal Heights for a week when we visited San Francisco for the Superbowl.
The apartment is really spacious and modern and had everything we needed. It was an ideal home away from home.
Lisa was extremely helpful and had provided great information about the local amenities and the city in general.
We used public transport (mostly bus) to travel in and out of town and this was really handy as the local bus to the City centre was a couple of minutes walk away with a regular service.
Overall we would throughly recommend the apartment for anyone staying in San Francisco. The area has a great mix of restaurants and we enjoyed the various choices which were all within a minute's walk.
Wonderful location and great apartment
My husband and I rented this apartment for a month while visiting our daughter who also lives in Bernal Heights. The location is great--just uphill a couple of blocks to get to the shops, restaurants and grocery store on Cortland. Cortland is a beautiful street and we enjoyed lots of great food and coffee. There's a bus stop right outside the door that takes you to Mission and the nearby BART stop. We had a car and never had trouble finding a parking spot.
The apartment itself looks recently renovated. It's clean, beautiful and convenient. We especially enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen. The bed is comfortable. It was the perfect place! The only down side might be if street noise bothers you. We didn't have any trouble with it, but some folks might.
The best part of the experience was Lisa, the landlady. She was so friendly and helpful and never more than a text away when we had questions.
We've stayed in lots of vacation rentals and this one is at the top of our list! We hope to return in future visits to San Francisco.
Lovely apartment and lovely people
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lisa's apartment in Bernal Heights. The apartment itself was just great - very clean, with modern kitchen and bathroom and comfortable. It was well appointed, with everything we needed for our stay. The location was great too, lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Check in was easy, despite getting there later than we initially expected. To top it off, Lisa was super helpful, taking the time to orient us to the area and giving us a list of restaurants to visit - PPQ Dungeness Island is a must try! Thanks again Lisa!

We are on the main street and we are in the city, so yes, there is city life. There’s nothing much I can do about it except to make sure the windows are double-glazed and the walls are insulated in the apartment.
